5-2 after 2.

Bemidji with the quick 2 ones, but still only tied the period.

Bemidji is giving it a valiant effort.

Edina sure is good though.

Agreed. It is clear Bemidji has some solid talent, but the Hornets are awesome.

Bemidji has a good looking powerplay, Edina needs to stay out the box in the 3rd and come out like they did in the 1st, not like the 2nd.

I agree.....got to know not to put your stick there to give them the opportunity, but that one was a dive.

That last one was bad. But we have the benefit of replays.

The first penalty of the 3rd was not a dive. #17 of Edina bear hugged that kid. Then he starts talking to the ref? Just go to the box.

Does Curt Giles always look mad? Or just after calls against his team?

I'm not a doctor but I disagree with Lou's assessment on #20. That looks a little more than just a stinger. Hope he's OK.

Bemidji looked really good, congratulations to them as they never gave up... I'm sure most of the state was behind you

It's a shame Bemidji had to draw Edina first round. They seemed better than the Hornets at some points in the game.

Great game and great season, nothing to be ashamed of.

Edina looks beatable.

6-4 Final

Bemidji made it a game, no doubt about it. I liked their physical play and power play. A lot of talent on that team.

Edina won't win state with that kind of performance. They seemed to have stop playing, thinking the game was in hand when up 3-0 and 5-2 near the end of the game.
Boe needs to be better moving forward and they can't be so fancy. Mismash in particular. His game is grind it out and to irritate people. Yes, he has skills and hands, but he tried to use it too much. Using it sparingly is better for his game.
Too much passing by the hornets too, Bowlby had a two on one and had a clear shot from close and passed instead. Need way more shots.

Hoping Malmquist is alright, I thought it looked more serious than they made it sound in the booth. If any team has the depth to overcome losing a star player, it is Edina.

Nice effort by Bemidji.

Edina was the better team throughout the game, minus two 45 second stretches. 2 ridiculous saves along with 1 very soft goal for Bemidji and suddenly you have a 1 goal game.

But that's all it takes sometimes; can't take a shift off or you'll get bit.

Good luck to Bemidji in the consolation round.

Thought Edina's goaltender also did not play very well in my opinion. The last 2 Bemidji goals were questionable........

I thought the 4th goal was a good goal. Right off of the face off, practically a one-timer. Edina needs to get out on that.

The 3rd goal for sure though....

If he plays like that tomorrow, Edina will not have a chance. He was out of position way too many times.

It was an exciting game no doubt. But I don't think either team had their best showing--Bemidji with some nerves on the big stage and Edina letting get a little closer than it should have. I expect the Hornets will take things up another level for their next game. I also think Bemidji earned some respect with their performance.

I wish I could have watched the 3rd period.
Lumberjacks are obviously pretty good too.

Nice 1st round game.

Any update on Malmquist? Hoping Karl would be down in the press conference, but I'm sure he's in the trombone section for the 2nd game. :D

Great effort by the Jacks, in an unbelievable pressure environment!

Hornets go on to face their tourney nemesis Hounds, standing in their way before the playing for the threepeat
