Marshall (Tigers) and LSHSPTCUC (St. Peter) both listed as AA teams. Have they had to Petition down in years past?

MSHSL website.
EP goes to 2AA.
7AA swapped STMA for Marshall, good move for STMA moving with Rogers to 8AA.

Le Seuer, Marshall (the town), Prior Lake, Shakopee, Chaska, Chanhassen, Holy Family, Mound-Westonka, Minnetonka, and EP in 2AA

Wayzata, Armstrong-Cooper, Hopkins, Benilde, St Louis Park, Edina, Holy Angels, Minnehaha Academy, and Cretin in 6AA

Anoka, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Champlin Park, Centennial, Spring Lake Park, Osseo, Maple Grove, North Metro in 5 AA

Woodbury, Tartan, Hill-Murray, NSP, White Bear, Stillwater, Mounds View, Irondale, Roseville in 4 AA

East Ridge, Park, Hastings, St Thomas, Eagan, Rosemount, Eastview, Apple Valley, Burnsville, Bloomington Jefferson in 3AA

So, this just became a cluster in the Metro.

After further review, 7AA will be loaded for the next 2 years. ER, Rapids, East all expected to be very good, then Marshall, Cloquet and Andover with a solid youth program. Good luck to Flake, St. Franny and your Bluejackets.

I mean they obviously wanted to do something about section 6 but this was the best they could do?

I'm pretty confused how CDH is in this section if they do it using geography.

I'm puzzled by this, also. That and Minnehaha Academy is now AA?

The previous 6AA was brutal but it made sense. This 6AA is still brutal, but now doesn't make sense.

The winners here are St Thomas, Burnsville, Minnetonka, Holy Family, EP, and everyone in 4AA and 5AA.
The biggest losers are Cretin.

I wanted Cretin to stay, it's an old St. Paul rivalry and getting put in 3AA when we opted up was a nice reward.

Never even got to beat the Raiders and end their season... :(

If accurate, section with Cretin, BSM, Holy Angels, Wayzata and Edina just became the most hated section in state lol.
The City of Hill Murray is beautiful this time of year

Probably highest median income too.

Swapping Cretin and Jefferson would make a lot of sense.
Putting Jefferson in 6AA, putting Wayzata in 2AA, and putting Prior Lake in 3AA would also likely work.

North Metro hasn't fielded a team since 2012, so that leaves 5AA with only seven teams, while 7AA has nine (and 3AA has ten). Why not place Andover here with with the other Anoka School District programs?

That's because I forgot Champlin Park. Fixed above.

Every six years the MSHSL has what they call a start from scratch year where everything is looked at. This was that year in the resectioning process. Next MAJOR cycle will not happen until 2021. There will be the minor changes over the next 4 years of course.

Per the MSHSL website, Minnehaha's 9-12 enrollment this year was 414 students, so that's really odd.

Gotcha, thanks. I still think Andover makes sense with the other A/B/C schools in 5AA, but at least the numbers are a bit more even.

I'm guessing Minnehaha is an error by the MSHSL, but I just went by what they listed.

It's a joke how 1AA stays unchanged. Should have moved a team from section 2 and 6 to breath some new life and challenge the Lakeville Schools. I understand Farmington is up and coming but section 1 has been a two team race for years.

Yeah, there were a few others I was suspicious of besides Minnehaha. LeSueur, Marshall, Spring Lake Park, Chaska, and St. Louis Park come to mind.
