NCAA style playoffs

I know it would never happen but what would you all think of taking a page form NCAA baseball and going with conference tournaments instead of sections?

16 conferences in the state.2 private conferences the rest public school

the 16 conference tournamet champs make it to a "super regional" with the 8 winners of the supper regionals going to state.

Good call Bob.So how about 16 AQ's and 16 atlarge bids so then it would be 8 super regionals of 4 teams based off rankings 1V4 2V3 With the winners going St.Paul.

Because the tournament was so terrible this year and broke the attendance record, so lets change it!

Exactly! Arguably the greatest and most exciting hockey tournament in the world, but yeah, let's fix it.....

I love the tournament just the way it is sorry I didn't mean to make it look like I'm hoping for a new format.This is just a hypothetical idea I came up with after seeing a promotion on ESPN for "championship week".
