Not sure if it has already been discussed but is Smedsrud a captain for Luverne?

It was not yet been discussed. Good topic idea.

Lots of really good players from southern Minnesota. Some many may have not heard about before. This year they have put themselves in position to be seen.

I agree with BP that there were JV players in the 'Elite' league which is so wrong but for the stars of the south not to be able to put up 9 points in a 20 game 'Elite' season when there are some JV players on the rosters doesn't really help the argument at least not tonight with emphasis on the not.

Nelson is a captain but not Smedsrud. If he was a captain before the kegger(2 games missed), than it was probably taken away after that.

Thanks for the video link NotTonight of the captains talk with refs.

New Ulm 3

Marshall 2.

Ldc steamrolled the bulldogs.

LDC is for real.

Looking forward to seeing the results of the game tonight. The Spartans are not completely encircled by corn (only on 3 sides); should be a little more telling of where the cards are so far this year.

A bit of a rebuilding year for Orono, lost some good players last year. But added a lot of good sophomores from their state title A bantam team. Should be a decent match-up.

Well, it's 12:46am. Bar closing should be soon, so I'll set this up for notTonight and Weiner33. What happened at the Blue Moon Ice Arena tonight? Bad systems again? Tired from last Saturday? Used up all the goals and energy on Tuesday after the "arrow" incident?

The town of Luverne is in mourning. Good thing Waseca comes today.

Orono with 4 goals by 4 different players.
5 different players sharing the 7 assists (including the goalie).

A balanced attack of solid players may be trouble this year for the cards elite talent. I was thinking they may not be challenged again until New Prague, but the last week of December is looking a little more interesting. Great opportunity for running up the stat sheet in the 5 games until then, though.

Did Luverne's #8 play in todays game (against Waseca) after his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty? I noticed he was held off the scoresheet. Just curious.

Says the guy who brags about a team that lets in 50% of the shots in one game then beats one on of the worst 5 AA teams.
We know win or lose Sats won't ever be quiet.......or honest.....

Hutchinson beat Marshall 7-2 in Marshall, so we were pretty accurate about Marshall being a 0.500 team or less this season. Hopefully their juniors and sophs learn from this.

Litchfield/DC with a big 10-0 win over Wadena/DC. It will be interesting to see how they do against the top 3A squads later.

And the silence is deafening. Did the hub have the sheet on the waseca luverne game posted correctly? Virtually even until half way through the THIRD? Herb, where ARE you? And where is your team?

Where is NotTonight and Co. with the weekend review?

Looks like they should have smooth sailing until the 29th, 31st and Jan 2nd.

Sats, I'm not making excuses for anyone but the cards were in the game vs Orono. Score was 4-1 yes but ask Parrish what he thought? You can call the fan line on Friday with all your questions for him? Think they enjoyed their time down in Luverne. Yes we need to beat a top team at some point in order to be relevant! We need a game like this every week on our schedule!

I'm still here! Just not nearly as entertaining as the others. I've been anticipating their posts too.

Luverne has some things to figure out. I didn't see the Waseca game but did see the Orono game. The Cards were flat. Not sure how they could not be up for this game. Need to find some balance. Line one is good but they cannot be on the ice all game. They were beat by the end of the first period. They need to put some trust in the youngsters to produce and hold their own. Orono was a good team. Out hustled and out played Luverne in every aspect. Orono's goalie made some incredible saves. He played a great game. I think Luverne will continue to struggle in these games until they find a way to be more balanced.
