I think "Hill" might be Karl Hylle from Breck.

Simley's JV goalie made it too. Austin Lee from Jefferson must not have played very well...<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... smokin.gif ALT=":smokin">

Which Bailey made it - there are two, both Forwards, on the 2AA/3A roster? Also, I don't see Wehrs name in the program - did he try out and what is the policy on players who are injured?

My understanding is that Wehrs is still playing for Cedar Rapids in the USHL (currently in playoffs). Thus, he was automatically placed into the Final 51. And let's not have people jump in here about fairness - if he's good enough to play in the USHL right now, he's good enough to be at the Final 51 for Advanced 17.

I certainly did not mean to imply an unfairness - just asking as I didn't see his name in the program. I certainly concur that if he's playing in the USHL, that would be a solid argument for his ability to be in this group. I was asking about the injured player policy as there were a few people inquiring this past weekend, and I was just looking for some expert opinion, i.e., if a player is injured during the trials part (not the festival), can that player still be considered for the Final 51 roster?

You're right, the site just shows last names and I added the first names out of my program. I didn't notice Adam Bailey from Red Wing. Not sure which is the right one.

hcky0809-

I didn't think you were implying that anything was out of line - it's just that some people on this board feel the need to question these things. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">

I think there is a little leeway for injured players. If a truly outstanding player is injured (a kid that would be in the top 15-20 and a candidate for the team going to the national camp), then there is a good chance that kid would be placed in the Final 51. With that being said, some good hockey players have not been given the free pass due to injury.

Thanks for the info - that sounds like a fair and reasonable policy.

The goalie selection was a joke<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ferent.gif ALT=":|"> . I saw every game possible and some of the goalies i wont say names didnt even look like a real goalie. Mind me saying i thought the section 6AA goalies should have it made even though that let more goals in that let say Beggs and Wood, the 6AA goalies had a team with i think 5 or 6 buffalo kids. This shocked me seeing this. There were no EP kids. Someone has to fill me in why Jonathan Meyers and Iverson from Eden Prairie did not make the first cut. Well anyways i saw all the games played by 6AA and the goalies were left out to dry... I think Krueser (SP?) let in 3 or 4 goals and lee i think let in 5, but these goals in my opinion werent weak, they were either a 5 on 3 or a breakaway.

How did mosey and okoposo make the team? they didnt play the last game? And why did Levine make the team i only remember him playing a game? or did he play all 3 and i just didnt see him?

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... yzethis at: 4/15/05 4:05 pm

Niether Meyers or Iverson from E.P. tried out for the Section 6 team. Several top shelf players missed the section tryout due to spring break, etc.

eddie shore...old time hockey...a few other ep kids have the ability to make a run at this thing...al lau (d. captain) jon meyer, blake gauer. i understand that iverson and meyers (captains next year) we're enjoying themselves during spring break on marco island. everybody needs a break...right? ep, from what i hear, will have a talented group of players suiting up next fall...players who remain together from their bantam a days. if coaching jells these players will make a run at it...

analyzethis--I completely agree with your assessment of the goalies...the section 6aa goalies had a very strong showing, especially Lee. I've never seen such a wierd composition of section 6, with pretty much all buffalo kids and nobody from ep, edina or wayzata.

Makes you think

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the section 6 selection process included several Buffalo folks??

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

The fact of the matter is that kids from Wayzata, EP, Edina, etc. actually have to come to the tryout to make the team. The majority of the players at the section 6 tryout were from 6A schools. Very few kids from the AA schools were at the tryout.

Yes - you are correct about EP - They had their spring break at the same time. Edina also had their spring break conflict too.

The only player from Eden Prairie to make either of the advanced teams (16's and 17's) was John Kruse. He elected to leave his spring break trip early in order to attend the festival.

I don't know much about the Wayzata group - I would guess that their spring break may have been a conflict too.
