In class A they were the best this weekend. Totino Grace a 3 seed in their section proved that Warroad was not unstoppable. On top of that if Warroad played the type of schedule WBL, Centennial, or Duluth East played they would have numerous losses. Nice season and class A title. If you want to be compared to AA then play AA.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">

I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the past few days. The most exciting tourney of the year! I think Minnesota hockey is the best and all of the players should be proud of their accomplishments and hard work. Perhaps, everyone could give their team a little plug without criticizing the others and show true sportsmanship. So in light of that................ I think the Jefferson Jaguars are a team of incredible talent, speed and finesse. I'm proud of the year they had and they provided me with many great games to enjoy. that was the best game that i think I'll ever see. Good job, TG we were all TERRIFIED out of our MINDS in the band section (i.e. pacing, crying, sitting on the ground, "I can't watch I can't watch i gotta watch I gotta watch...)

Once again the public showed what they are interested in. 6,000 attending the Class A Title game which some are classifying as one of eh best ever. Crimeny! ND State Championship is equal to that type of game!

Cross check your nuts, even the homer play by play team on tv was calling it the best game. Yeah not alot of people were there but lets face it at noon who would be? Put that game at 7 on another night and you would see as many fans show up, why because its hockey and great hockey at that. Is Warroad the best team in this state? I cant answer that, in my eyes yes, in many other eyes yes, but for some its no, Fact is AHA didnt control Moorhead, Moorhead had more shots almost 2 to 1 I believe, Warroad's Mark Thiele and Olimb and Hardwick might have made some different plays against AHA, There is no doubt in my mind that Warroad could beat AHA but would they if they played today?? Only one way to know that answer and we never will so lets all just be happy

Noon on a Saturday of the State hockey tournament and who could be there? Yikes! There used to be approx. 10,000 attending the Consolation Championship on a Saturday afternoon when we had one division.

Good thread slappy and right on cuda and others. If you watched on TV and or attended this tournament you know why we love this so much. I must confess to being a recovering Class AA supremist. This year was the first year I truly followed the A tournament closely. The section 8 thing on the board and the fact that I know a lot of the STA families tweeked my interst this year. I am now fully recovered. If anybody else isnt they let their prejudices prevent them from enjoying something special. I watched the championship game on TV. When they would show a shot of the benches after a goal was scored and those boys reaction...well debate seems somewhat foolish.

Well.... Warroad played Moorhead and they tied Holy Angels played Moorhead and won Technically, Holy Angels beat Warroad, but I guess Slappy has to have something right or else he's not going to be able to live with himself. Hey Slappy, The fact of the matter is that there is only one Minnesota Boys State High School Champion every year. This year it was Holy Angels. Last year it was Centennial. In 2003 it was Anoka. In 2002 it was Holy Angels. Get the point?! This debate is brought forth every year by fans of the Class A champions, because those fans wish their team had competed and won the AA title.....but they did not! I agrease which bluesbuddy but would add: 3. Moorhead refused to change to adapt to AHA's scheme which was to stand them up at the blueline. They should have gone to a dump and chase to create more scoring chances instead of just shots.

I do belive the scoreboard ring around the arena said "2005 State Champs WARROAD WARRIORS" thats all I care about..we have a trophy that says 2005 State Champs. I don't put any stock into A or AA...state champ is state champ it was a HELL OF A GAME. I definatley got my money's worth. Anyone that saw that game cannot say it wasn't a good hockey game. Congrats to TG you played a hell of a game!

This was the year that everyone was asking if Class A had "narrowed the gap". The answer of course is a resounding yes, but for this year only. Warroad is one of the best, if not the best, teams in the state. That being said, Totino is ranked #14 on Minnhock and took Warroad to OT. I think they needed a decisive win to claim the best in both classes. This year will go down as a blip in Class A history. Right or wrong the true State Champ will be recognized as the AA champ. I don't mean to diminish Warroads great team, and even greater fans. Congratulations, you had a hell of a year.
