Draft
I loved how the TSN announcers noticed the number of minnesota grown hockey players in this draft...very well represented in the first round...this is truley the state of hockey

another wow!
Matt Niskanen goes at #28.
Must have been a pretty good year for Minnesota Class A hockey, eh?

Re: another wow!
Congrats to them all. Lee, Oshie, Niskanen, all stayed in high school rather than play juniors. Must be doing something right!!!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... sscheck at: 7/30/05 4:37 pm

I thought that Chad Rau and Jared Hummell were both supposed to be drafted in the 5th or 6th rounds, anyone know why they were not selected?

Re: draft
You gotta love it, 3 northern boys in the first round!! Lee from the always a bride's-maid Spuds, and TJ and Nisky from the God-Awful single A teams. Sucks to be them, doesn't it? No matter what you say, these kids are good, no matter who they played for, and good for them that they had some loyalty to their teams and stayed with them and didn't bolt to junior hockey. This says a lot to me about their character, family, friends and coaches that made them stay with a team that had a winning attitude. Sorry, I've never been a big Sioux fan, and I love tUMD, but I hope these guys make a big impact with their college teams before moving on to the NHL.

great day!
More importantly.... GREAT day for Minnesota High School hockey these shows other players considering the US Development program and playing in the USHL early that they don't need to, they'll still get noticed! Congrats to them all, I'm still on a high from this

Re: great day!
I have a dumb question. Can someone tell me why sometimes people put the letter t in front of words. I see it a lot on gopherpucklive. Hockey50 did it in his post. Can anyone help?

Re: great day!
Sure. In the case of tUMD, the small "t" stands for "the", as in THE University of Minnesota-Duluth. It's "borrowed" from fans of Ohio State calling their uni THE Ohio State University.

So of course, it carries forward from there. In certain Boards or topics, you'll see the use of the "t" in regards to other nouns.

Fans of other schools (such as NoDak and the Faithful Followers Of The Golden Rodents) think it's stupid. They're jealous cause tDogs fans thought of it first. Errrrr...I mean thought of it second.

Haven't heard any complaints from Bucky fans. I think they're still focused on losing Kessel to their biggest rival. (For one year).

(Mitch, anything to add to the Bucky comment? )

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005
