Moorhead is up 1-0 after one period. Fahrendorf with the PP goal on a rainbow deflection over Fitzgerald's shoulder. Pretty much a "feeling out" first period as neither team had great chances.

Big week for Moorhead as Spuds have already lost to both Bemidji and Brainerd on the road. Play both at home this week (Tuesday and Thursday, respectively).

Yes indeed...Brady Tatro and Jack Johnson with goals less than three minutes apart midway through the second period. The 'Jacks lead 2-1 with under one minute left in the second.

Moorhead with a goal with 34 seconds left in the second to tie it at 2-all. Should be a great third period.

No sitting in the easy chair in west Bemidji
Listening to radio and getting text and phone calls

Some are saying one of the refs made a couple of icing offside calls from odd position
Anything to this or fans overzealous?

Little bit of both...imagine that, eh? Refs with questionable calls and fans with overzealous reactions, right? Enjoy the third period!

C'mon, this is as good as it gets in Section 8AA, right? Gotta keep the eyelids open for another 30-40 minutes!

Elliott, what's going on late in games? This Bemidji squad has made a living on being so good in the 3rd period and now they lost this one, blew a 2 goal lead to Cloquet, and ended up tying EGF after they gave up a real late goal. One is an accident, twice is a trend. Are you worried after this third occurrence?

Not worried.

Mostly an issue with a player missing here and there and Chiodo juggling things around a bit.

Last night second period the Jacks dominated.
But for some reason they forget the intensity in the third thinking it was theirs, I am guessing.
They have the ability, like Rapids maybe DEast, just need to give the effort.
Of course they are the ones with the target on their backs now, so they need to adjust for more intensity from their opponents.

Its a test of what they are made up of and what Coach Chido is capable of.
Bottom line, I am not worried, it is a kids game after all and Chido has produced good young hard working men that do well in school, so, no not worried.

I think it's a bit of an overstatement to say Bemidji dominated the second period.......but they did have the better of play in that frame.

That said, they looked pretty disinterested in the third period, spent most of the period outside of a few minutes in their own zone and were fortunate not to have lost 4-2 in regulation. I'm guessing the 5-0 win in game one was a factor......but Bemidji looked very average last night.

Agreed Bemidji did have the edge in play in the second period, but MHD had the edge in first and a big edge in the third, pretty even in OT. Mhd also had the goalie playing that will be our starter going forward( I Hope) and this kid didnt play in our first meeting with Bemidji. We have played 15 games and have had 3 goalies play about 5 games each, so having a steady starter goalie is huge for MHD, just because we don't score a lot of goals, and are a defensive type of team. However this game still could have gone either way and Bemidji is still the team to beat in 8AA, barely, IMO.
