At the end of one Wayzata holds a 1-0 edge over BSM. BSM definitely not on their game in the first period whereas Wayzata is playing very well with the puck in the Red Knights' end a lot.

After two BSM and Wayzata are tied 1-1. The 2nd was pretty much the opposite of the 1st, with Benilde having the strong edge in play and SOG (11-2). More worrisome is that Cade Gleekel went out early in the first and hasn't played since. Appears to be a shoulder/neck injury as he was on the bench holding a big bag of ice on that area.

Channel 12 doing a nice job with the broadcast. Great to watch in true HD on the big screen.

As always with Benilde games this season, a great game, and now only St. Louis Park stands between them and an undefeated regular season. Gleekel's injury in the first really threw off the Red Knights' chemistry, but they sure pulled it all back together in the 2nd. The 3rd was pretty even, but Auggie Moore made the difference, and Connor Mayer just takes more and more control of games every time I see him.

Still, Wayzata took it to Benilde as well as anyone this year, and they did it without Hank Sorensen. (Though they did a good job of staying out of the box...) Anderson did a great job of stepping up to lead on the blue line in his absence. If these two play again at Mariucci in two weeks, it should be another great one.

Congrats to the RK on another close challenging win. Unfriendly Wayzata Ice Arena packed to capacity , big ice sheet , and they lose their top scorer. But they find a way to win again. People near us were saying collarbone injury to Gleekel . Will Sorenson be back in time for the section finals at Mariucci?

Yes, it was a one-game boot for an incident in the Tonka game.

Someone at the game had said sorensons 1 gamer had been compounded up to 4 games because of the escalation rule. Bad info?

I have it on pretty good authority that it's just one.
