YHH HS Player of the Year

Post by YouthHockeyHub »

We named our finalists for Player of the Year this morning. A little different twist, we include non-seniors and included a goalie. We also did a fun short interview with each player.

Enjoy,

Apollo's Nick Althaus (Sr) was the best goalie we saw

Scott Perunovich (Jr) from Hibbing is the most dynamic defenseman

Casey Mittelstadt - Eden Prairie (Jr) (F) - is so good, people just say the word "Casey" and the whole hockey world knows who you are talking about.

Riley Tufte of Blaine (Sr) (F),returned from the USHL as a gift to his local community and to all high school hockey fans.

Cade Gleekel of Benilde (Sr) (F), was a goal scoring sensation for for the Red Knights all year.

Honorable Mention:
Wyatt Aamodt, Hermantown
Matt Anderson, Holy Family
Noah Cates, Stillwater
Chase Ellingson, Breck
Ethan Johnson, Thief River Falls
Connor Mayer, Benilde St. Margaret's
Ryan Poehling, Lakeville North
Zach Risteau, Benilde St. Margaret's
Alex Schilling, Wayzata

Yeah, where the F@$# is Notermann? It's not like he is just a passenger on the Tufte express or anything. Luke is very good in his own right.

Unfortunately it looks like his year might be over. Tough break for him and his team.

There are only 5 players and 10 HM, lots of quality players not on here.

The clear number one in the state loses its best player, and the huge pack gets even tighter. Crazy sections and tournament coming up.

Very hard to argue that Notermann is not one of the top 15 players in the state.

It is to bad nobody has Nick Leitner from Bemidji on any of these lists. Very good player who is the backbone of a good team.

HM player who puts up smaller numbers than when he's a junior while playing on a more experienced team. Makes sense along with the Mr. Hockey nominations and your goalie pick who didn't play a third of the year (not because of injury).
