Good to see the Lumberjacks bounce back from an opening round loss and take the Consolation. Similar to the 1986 tournament when they lost in the opening round to Section 7 Champ Hibbing and took the Consolation over Jefferson.
The Jacks had their best season ever, going 25-3-2, all three losses in OT.

Agreed.

Good to see someone besides Moorhead and Roseau for a change.

Stinks that they and GR had to meet in the first round.

Bemidji vs GR

Why does everyone say it stinks when 7AA has to play 8AA in QF's? What would the forum response be if 2AA had to play 6AA in the QF's? Would that stink too? 😢

Because I didn't like to see two northern teams have to eliminate one or the other, simple as that.

Also, part of the fun of any tournament is playing teams you haven't played before/very often.

I could care less about 2 or 6aa.

Did you like the movies "Miracle" or "Hoosiers"? People love an underdog story. In general, the northern teams are always considered the underdogs when they face the metro schools, so most people root for them. Especially when those northern teams could be stacking trophies in A, but they choose to play against the toughest competition. What's not to like?

Well there is a bright side: at least one northern team gets to play on Friday night. ;)

When I look at the Jacks 2016-17 schedule, will I PLEASE see a 3 day tourney in NW metro with Elk,Andover, and STMA? ( Elk will be moved to 8 next year when HT moves up to 7AA?)

WestMeteo, is that for sure? ER will be in 8AA next year? Makes sense, as we only have seven schools at present.

No ER next year, perhaps a St. Cloud icebreaker.

Icebreakers...is that what they are calling the co-op between Tech and Apollo?

It's one of the names being brought up, but I don't think it will be the name.
