Thanks for sharing this, DJ. I am surprised there were not some additional offerings for this. I am looking forward to getting an early glimpse of the teams on Friday. There have to be concerns about the weather's impact on visiting teams' travel plans; we will see how the storm tracks.

Due to the weather, H-M will not be travelling to Grand Rapids

Is that at Stillwater or Victoria? Time? Should be an interesting early look.

I did not see either game but I guess Holy Family over Stillwater 2-0 and Delano over Edina 6-3.

We came down to Moorhead for the scrimmages. It was hard to track the scores but I did have some observations. Anyone else see the games? Moorhead looks to have a very solid team with a couple of nice lines and good defense. They will be a tough out from that section. Likewise Bemidji I thought looked really good both with their scoring, D and goalie. They had no problems scoring and looks to be a favorite coming out of their section. No other way to say this but Wayzata will be tough. Smoother D, solid goaltending and a couple of nice forwards. They won't be a scoring machine but it looks like they won't have to be. Chanhassen D and goaltending looked really solid, but scoring will be an issue as F were lacking. St. Cloud Cathedral looks to be a little young this year but they will win their fair share--but maybe not a trip back to state this year. Breck has some speed on that team--I did not get to see more than about 10-15 minutes of them playing but they could move the puck and were fast. Last team I saw was Grand Forks Central. I am just glad they are in ND as I thought they might have been the best team there.

1 week after starting practice, scrimmages means diddly. I watched Edina against Delano and Delano won 6 - 3. What I saw was a very calm and relaxed Delano team and an Edina goalie well out of the crease. Other than that I watched Edina pick up the pace and look like Edina. Fast, good passing. But again it is 5 days into practice. Let's see the outcome in a month. My guess Edina wins 6 -3....

Agree these scrimmages don't mean much ... so for what it is worth Holy Family took the play to Stillwater the majority of the game.

Both goalies were very good making some spectacular saves which isn't surprising as both have very high end tenders. For a scrimmage it was very physical and scrappy. Seemed like Holy Family / Stillwater was a rivalry meeting. I guess meeting 3 times last year (including pre-season scrimmage) and the last game of the year last year has had some carry over. Both coaches being Wisconsin grads may have added a little to this as well. They ended it with some time on the clock after some extracurricular activity...

Overall - Stillwater looked very rusty and out of place, HF looked more like mid season form. The ponies were playing numerous players who didn't look like they will see much time this year not sure about HF...

"Delano is clearly sandbagging and should move to AA already." That has got to be the dumbest thing I have read so far this year! Lol, maybe the Breck Mustangs that continually beat them to make it to the state tourney every year should stop sandbagging & move up! P.s. If you know your hockey history, Delano has never gone to the tourney. They've always lost in barn burners to Breck. Now let's use our brains here.. 🤔

I break out this line once a year. Now seems like a good time.

My bad on not catching the sarcasm. I assumed it was some Edina folk/fan irked that a WCC conference team beat them in a scrimmage! On that note, best of luck to Delano on making it to state this year!

I have been to Edina... Sharpen up your game a little here or it could be a long season.
