Cloquet/E/C at Duluth East
I so look forward to this home and away series ever single year. The crowd, the student sections, the band, and several great hockey minds in the arena's when these two rivals do battle. Throw records, who's better on paper, coaching out the window. These games are decided by the boys on the ice on that night. Purple sweaters vs. the red and black of powerhouse Duluth East. I'll be there at noon. Be prepared to park in Proctor if your late to this event. High school sport doesn't get much better than this rivalry anywhere in our great country. I've got much respect for the Greyhounds. That being said.....let's take this boys!! #thepurple

As in most recent years, my thoughts going into this game are "East should win, but..."
They've only won 3 of the past 6 against the Jacks, so there's certainly a precedent. The Hounds need to get their top line rolling; it's not even their top scoring line right now. If they don't, this one could stay interesting.

East 5, Cloquet 0, shots 44-24. A crisp day at the office for the Hounds. Quality puck movement, goals from all four lines, and a shutout for Kirk Meierhoff. Lots of sophomores in the lineup for Cloquet, so I expect they'll improve, but right now I'd guess Marshall is better than they are.
Excellent crowd and atmosphere, with both student sections going back and forth despite a one-sided game. The crowds at East games have been the best they've been in years so far this season.
Mixed feelings about the pregame ceremony honoring East getting named "top modern era program" by LPH, but 23 straight top 20 finishes isn't too shabby, and was enough to get a quick tip of the cap from Randolph.

The U invented swagger.
Right here. Yes. 5-0. Yes. Outshot by 20. Yes. The purple lost to Randolph and his Duluth East Greyounds. Yes. It stinks to loose. Yes. We'll get ready for the next game. Yes.
