Using that same archived website, I found a 6-2 EP home victory vs. Edina on 12/30/2005. Couldn't get 2006-07 info. In any case, it's fair to say that EP hasn't beaten Edina at home in roughly 10 years.

Watched the YHH stream of this one. All in all, an impressive showing for the Eagles. Edina had some good moments of sustained zone time, especially early, but EP limited chances well and was the much better team in transition. You expect that from Casey and Leivermann, but what's impressive is how the whole lineup is looking good. Having balance when one of your players is a world-class star is not an easy feat. The third line had a great game...Jake Olson deserves some love for the speed he flashes out there, as that was the direct cause of the first goal and he led to a pair of breakaway chances later on, too.
I'm officially back on the EP bandwagon. Hopefully the weather doesn't foul up Saturday too much. That game was preseason #1 vs. #2, and with the way EP is playing now, I think it effectively is #1 vs. #2 again.
Edina had some good zone time and the defense is solid, but I still get the sense they're a half-step away...just a little too young and a little too thin on high-end scoring talent. Still, a dangerous team that looks like it has a cakewalk (pun intended) to State.

Olson's speed was very noticeable out there. It was senior night for EP, so I think that energized the team a bit too. Edina played EP well, even outshot them 36-30, but EP had the better scoring opportunities. EP's PK was terrific, allowing few shots on net. Nice three point game for Mittelstadt (1 G, 2 A). The ten year home win drought against Edina is now over.
