Lake Conference

Anybody have and ideas on how the teams will do? With Lakeville Spliting...is it going to effect other teams...or just Lakeville?

The new Lakeville school (South?), I have heard (not in the "know") will be young this year and will probably have a tough time competing, but the old Lakeville school (North?) should be a veteran group that should not be effected by the split. The gap in this conference is closing though... top teams should be AV (if Beggs plays tough), Jefferson, and EP (duh), next should be B-ville, Rosemount, Eastview, Eagan, Chaska, and Old Lakeville, with Kennedy and New Lakeville, both of which would be good teams in any other conference, bringing up the rear. I think that's everybody, and it'll be a tough season for all!

Beggs is going to AV. I put them at the top with Jeff and EP because they have a great program and great coaching, and these other teams have to prove that they are better. The Lake's about impossible to predict though, so I really don't know who's going to do what.

Fischer and Medvec will both be playing for AV this year. They both turned down offers: Medvec from Tri City and Fischer from the NTDP. With them and Beggs they are going to be very tough to score on. The only question for AV will be there ability to score.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... otice7>Hot Ice 7 at: 7/21/05 1:50 pm

According to the US Hockey Report, Fischer turned down the NTDP because they wanted him as a forward. He wanted to remain a defenseman.

That has proven to be a good move as the USHR also reports that Fischer has verbally committed to the Minnesota Gophers for either the 2006 or 2007 season. That determination will be made at a later date based on how well he plays this season and how much weight he puts on his frame.

LloydBraun, have you seen the NTDP play? I watched their product on the ice a lot last year and am NOT impressed with team play at all. Meaning I think USA hockey could better spend their money.

I dont know much either about the NTDP team but i have seen them play against some very good competition and i was impressed by their play, but then i also saw them play a team they should of crushed and they only won by a goal. But why i said i dont know how fischer turns down the invite is coaches, schedule and some of the competition that the NTDP team will play, dont get me wrong hayes is a good coach and apple valley does play some good teams. BUt i also say all this before i knew that NTDP wanted him to play forward

They are losing Swenson, coles and sexton who was most of all their scoring last year and mccarthy who can add some goals transfered to AHA

AV Scores!

Post by Kodiak »

Their defense and goaltending will win games for them, and will also create scoring chances in the transition. Look for a bunch of 3-1, 3-2 victories out of the Eagles this year!

No surprise...I think Jefferson will take it on the backs of the best goalie in the state, Austin Lee, and one of the top juniors, Josh Levine. If Jefferson wants to win state, it better be this year or next because the Jefferson teams aren't quite as strong as the current juniors and seniors.
-------------------

"75 percent of the world is covered by water. I think you all are giving EP way to much credit. I have watched them play this summer, and they lost all the talent they had last year, and they have no goalie. You guys need to look at Burnsville and Chaska being up towards the top. Remember what they both did last year.
