Very insightful. I am guessing that the path will eventually head up Highway 11 North.

Rest assured Warrior, you're not the only community that does it, your's has just mastered the art. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Who will be tranfering schools next year?

Sorry guys I did not have any particular schools in mind - but if we must narrow this down, who will be transferring to Elk River, Duluth East and BSM?

International falls is in the works for a coop with their neigbors north of the border. that could bring in some talent.

Quote:
but i heard cloquet is bringing in an out-of stater

What? I thought this was a very well kept secret! Here's the scoop....Jamie Langenbrunner left high school at the end of his junior year opting to play with Peterborough Petes in the OHL. He never received his high school diploma from CEC and still has one year of high school eligibility remaining. Well, stay with me now....Skip Peltier, retiring associate director of the MHSL, is responsible for all student eligibility issues. Apparently he has the power, because he is at the end of his term, to grant Jamie a year of high school eligibility. I've been told it's much like the pardons a U.S. President can make at the end of his/her term. Anyhow, because of the NHL lockout and some loopholes in the transfer/open enrollment/eligibility rules it looks like Jamie will be back as a Lumberjack next year. There is also talk about Scott Stevens coming along to patrol the blue line for the Jacks. Better keep your heads up boys!

Bemidji's Disappearing Act...

Post by Renegade Ram »

Heard 2 possible 3 upcoming sophomores may disappear from the Bemidji area if the programs situation doesn't have a shake up early this summer. Where is their true destination...only Summer Santa knows for sure. We're not talking "Super Recruiter" snagging these either, although I'd love to see the board in his War Room right now.

My son talked to 2 kids from Bemidji at the state tourney and they said they were headed to Warroad next year. Don't know how true it was.

Leaving Bemidji

Post by Northern Hockey Fan »

This is true, There are players from Bemidji leaving to go elsewhere. I know of one for sure going to Warroad the others im not sure where they are going i just know they refuse to play for the current coaches in Bemidji. About 6-8 kids have opted to leave Bemidji for either juniors or other towns in the last 5 years because they are unhappy with the coaching.

Hopeless Program

Post by oletimer »

If Bemidji kids are leaving for junior hockey it must be for JR. B., hardly a substitute for staying at home. The Bemidji parents blamed John Wanberg, ran him off hired two young co-coaches who were in over their heads and now they are blaming them. What they really need to do there is run off a bunch of parents who don't understand the game or know where their kids really stack up.

BHS could/should/would be the perennial power in section 8AA, if the parents would let whoever is coaching do the job. I believe they tried to run out every coach who comes along. Don't they realize that there is no "perfect coach". Even Eades in Warroad had his very obvious faults, but he coached they way he wanted and produced winning teams.

Rumor has been withering through isanti that two kids form there could end up somewhere else next year. This could be a huge loss for that program next year.

I've heard a couple times that Chumley was headed to ER, but then I have seen it shot down too. I would bet he would stay at CI, but wouldn't mind seeing him head to ER. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)">
Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

please....it wouldn't matter

Post by State of Hockey80 »

It wouldn't matter where they would go, neither of them would make any impact. Chumley racks up his points against teams like mora, moose lake, north branch, and washburn<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes"> . How many points did he get on grace or east? none. Then goldsmiht doesn't see any quality shots against the teams that were just mentioned. They would never be able to play at the next level.

I agree with the chumley comment but i think goldsmith if he can adjust fast enough to the pace and adapt to the team he transfers to might be able to hold his own however.

I have a kid playing at the peewee level in Cambridge so I get a little inside info on Chumley and Goldsmith. I've heard about the ER rumor, but thats not the only school i've heard. It would be a big disappointment, but it definately wouldn't hurt them in the long run. Chumley has lead the team in scoring the last 2 years and Goldsmith is going into his 5th year at high school. I'm sure its a hard process for any kid to leave his friends and do this, but you have to remember that we are in the state of hockey and kids here eat, sleep and breathe hockey.
