3A is always FUN!
But this one is over before it starts.
Luverne!
Wait, they will choke, definitely New Ulm.
But someone said Litchfield is the team to beat, but Marshall is coming on.

4vs5 NU and Redwood according to your rankings. A rematch from last years first round in sections although this is on New Ulm's big sheet of ice. A place that has not been friendly to the slumping Cardinals(RV).elliott70 wrote:1 Luverne 13-5-1

I do wonder how the coaches will vote on Hutch. 7 section games and so far they are 2-1-1 in them. Lost to LDC and tied NU on road but beat Marshall at home. I think most would agree Marshall is playing much better hockey as of late though.
Regardless of performance the seeding in this section will be based on the coaches and what teams they want to play. I'll say it until it changes, but coaches voting on seeds is absolutely absurd. There is no due process given to teams that may deserve that 4 seed instead of 5 and in a case this year, if NU is around that area it's going to be a huge advantage for them to play a home game against whoever the 5 seed may be.

Fairmont has more wins, maybe Hutchinson is the 7 seed?I do wonder how the coaches will vote on Hutch. 7 section games and so far they are 2-1-1 in them. Lost to LDC and tied NU on road but beat Marshall at home. I think most would agree Marshall is playing much better hockey as of late though.
If LDC beats Marshall, do they deserve a higher seed, or if Marshall plays much better later against Morris-Benson, do they get the nod?
What if Hutchinson beats Redwood?
Do they allow that German home-cookin', even during sections?if NU is around that area it's going to be a huge advantage for them to play a home game against whoever the 5 seed may be.
Funny that New Ulm's losing record and loss to Redwood puts them ahead of Redwood in some minds.

I would say there isn't much doubt in any minds that play as of late would seed NU above Redwood. Factor in Luverne as a common opponent. NU beat them and Redwood got swept (badly), although NU losing to LSH/SP/TCU doesn't help. Hutch is a far superior team to Fairmont, but then again how are they voting on the seeding? Are they voting on overall records with a strength of schedule factored in? Or just based on actual records?InigoMontoya wrote:Fairmont has more wins, maybe Hutchinson is the 7 seed?I do wonder how the coaches will vote on Hutch. 7 section games and so far they are 2-1-1 in them. Time will tell but my guess is they are going to factor in Hutch's schedule. Too many factors to tell how they will be voted.
And no, pizza and popcorn are quite lame concession items in a German town like New Ulm.
