You must have been listening to the radio as well. Were you at the game? Can you comment on the officiating if you were there?
No, just reading the posts on here.
LDC gets a major, doesn't kill it off - loses.
Redwood gets a major, kills it off, scores - wins.
Luverne gets a major, kills it off - wins.

Haven't seen many major penalties called this year. It seems odd that many would be called in New Ulm, late, in tight games, in the Eagles' favor.
Redwoods major against New Ulm was in Redwood, not New Ulm, and it was definitely a major penalty.

LDC hit was the worst I've seen this year, refs had little to no choice but to give him a major. The major against redwood was in redwood, and Luverne was definitely a penalty but should not have been a major. It should have been called a cross check, but this wasn't the first time I've seen a ref give 5 when he shouldn't have this year. I've seen a major penalty called three times this year for checking from behind in the open ice and this was one of them. The other two were against New Ulm in both of their games against St.Peter. Is that a new rule/point of emphasis or something because I don't know if I had ever seen that called before this year.

I was told it is a point of emphasis, and by doing so they gave the referee the option of not giving a misconduct penalty. Any check from behind is supposed to be called checking from behind now and not crosschecking or interference as it was in the past for open ice hits. Again, that is just what I was told.

Luverne vs Marshall, in Luverne.

I will try to facebook live this game. However, when big crowds are in the building the WiFi can't handle it so the video quality becomes very poor. *Fair warning served.

My sources are telling me Ericson out for season. Big loss between the pipes for Luverne.

A good 10-11 games in a row up in Canada from the old #8 for Luverne. Have you been up for any games?

They have great depth at that position so should be fine.

#2 had a shutout in Marshall two months ago. A little up and down since then. Hasn't seen varsity action in a month.
#3 saw 1 shot in 1 period against Worthington last week.
Great depth?

An EXCELLENT example that analysis from behind a keyboard can only do so much.

True, the question mark was hoping to evoke some additional insight - appears not. There wasn't really any analysis, just observation. Analysis may have included, 3 goals on 15 shots against St Peter and 4 goals on 13 shots against Waseca doesn't look like great depth...from behind a keyboard.

Also, I think most Wild fans would consider Kemper to be pretty good depth at the position, but if Dubnyk went down two weeks before the playoffs, I don't think most Wild fans would use the phrase, 'should be fine'.

I'm telling ya, all that matters is a goalie who can play on 1 Wednesday in February. We've had one once. Whiner could strap em on and get what we got last year on a Wednesday. Luverne almost Won that one too!

I try not to "Evoke" any insight on Minor kids Medical situations in a public forum.

So, what I will offer... this team is Young. And at times they certainly play like it. But, when they have the foot on the floor, they are fun to watch. Does it take 248 goals to win this Section, NO. Does this group, with the D and Forward support they get at times need to score 248 goals, not even close. As a matter of my opinion only... when the D and Forwards are playing the way they are being asked to, I haven't seen any team from this section demand more than the Family dog standing between the pipes to be suffice. I have never believed that Tending should be the reason a team is successful, but riding a Hot Tendy is cool, just don't rely on it.

This same HOT goalie lost sight of seven last year in Gustavus and I'm not sure what the result was in New Prague last year was. I think it might of been a case of being roofied?

5 unanswered goals and five consecutive conference championships for the Cardinals.

The 1 seed should be locked up now.

I hope he shows up for the Wednesday game in February, but the only Wednesday game that matters this year is in March.

Kudos

Kudos to Marshall as they came to play which I guess should be expected with 14 Seniors on the squad. Their Freshman D is impressive. JMO

For a rivalry, Luverne didn't show much motivation for the first two periods. :(

Wasn't talking about the #1 goalie at all, was looking for a little opinion about the remaining guys. Thank you to Whiner and notTONIGHT for providing a little.

Glad to see some absentee voices back on this finally. My own team is apparently confusing MHSH for the WWF. Luverne, like the last 2 years (yes I stand by that) will need goatending to win, but shouldn't have to be great. Iffy tending and some untimely penalties near the end of the game cost them last year. They have no one in the section that is as'tough' as the teams they have faced in the finals the past few. Whole section is on the low end this year. They only have themselves to beat. Maybe this coach can create some team on that team. I know my group is struggling with similar issues. Deadly.
