Section 1A/1AA Elite II game vs Shattuck Varsity tonight.
Section 1 Elite II team visited Shattuck tonight to play the Shattuck Varsity team.

Section 1 5 Shattuck Varsity 0

Scoring for Section 1

Goal #1 Tim Kirby unassisted Senior from Austin @ 11:03 of the 1st period

Goal #2 Eric Amundson Rochester Lourdes Junior with an assist to Brad Yetzer Rochester JM junior @ 8:31 of the 1st period

Goal #3 Brandon Binder Lakeville South Sophomore with an assist to Jacob Smuda Faribault Sophomore @ 4:24 of the 2nd period

Goal #4 Adam Peterson Junior from Marshall with assists to Cory Krogen Senior Marshall and Jacob Smuda Sophomore from Faribault @ 12:23 of the 3rd period

Goal #5 Tim Kirby Austin Senior.. Tim Kirby two nice unassisted goals….

Goaltending stats

Kevin Donohue Mayo Junior turned in two more shutout periods stopping 14 shots and allowing no goals in two periods of action. Kevin has played 7 straight shutout periods of hockey. Way to go.

Brandon Isakson Mankato West Senior played the 3rd period and stopped all 4 shots that he faced.

Section 1's current record is 8-4 overall and 5-2 in Conference. This was the 5th straight win for our team after a dissapointing weekend where we lost three close games at home where we had the edge in territory and shots but just didn't finish well around the net. Another change has been the addition of Tim Kirby who is an outstanding young Defenseman. He can play hard nosed defense and also score some goals. The other factor has been our goaltending Kevin Donohue has been very hard to beat all year and Brandon Isakson has played well when called on.

Section 1 travels to Wausau Wisconsin for 3 games this weekend. They will play Team Wisconsin on Saturday morning @ 11:00 AM in a conference game. They will then play Section 2AA/3A at 8:30 PM Saturday night and turnaround and play Section 6A/6AA at 10:00 AM Sunday morning. The first two are conference games and the 3rd game is non-conference. Tonights game was non-conference we will play our Shattuck Conference game on 11/2/2005 at 7:00 PM @ Kasson our last home game before the playoffs….. Tim Kirby will be unable to join us this weekend as he has some work responsibilities. I hope that he gets some ice time and works hard to get in top shape for our Blaine Tourney appearance.

Hopefully Scott Steege Sr Defenseman from JM will be feeling better and can join us this weekend. Let us know how you are feeling. If we see you in Wausau it would be great. If you are not feeling good don’t come if you are we could use you.

Hockey Nut in So. MN

How many seniors can you play
Looks like another good weekend for Section 1, my only comment is it looks like most of your production is coming from seniors. I thought this league was for underclassman?

Re: How many seniors can you play
We played as many as we can against Shattuck in a Non-Conference game..

We play 4 and the goalie doesn't count.

How do you figure most of our production comes from Seniors?

Tim Kirby belongs in the Elite I league period. I didn't have anything to do with why he isn't. So does Cory Krogen of Marshall.

How do you get most of production from Seniors.

Kirby is a senior as is Krogen. My top goalie is a junior and three of the top 5 scorers are underclassmen Amundson, Sackett are juniors..

Always our top seniors should lite up this league due to the fact that they are not in the Elite 1 league and should be. We have underachieved so far.
Hockey Nut in So. MN

Re: How many seniors can you play
This is Shattuck's "varsity", not "prep", correct?
