How bad would that have been without Karl to report back.....
Heard from others who attended that he used some colorful language that can't be repeated here without triggering sensors, and that when asked what he was thinking about when Luverne tied it up, he said, "Mariucci."

It's been a very long time since I last felt compelled to stand and applaud the effort of a team that I don't have a rooting interest for. What an effort by Luverne tonight, and that game-tying goal had us all in awe at the X.

Credit to their coaching staff, too, as they'd clearly done their homework. They had a game plan for getting around that Hawk forecheck, and were generating a lot of pretty decent chances in transition. If other teams want a chance, they should've been taking notes. It made for a very fun day.

Amazing. Congratulations to the Luverne team and their crew. They played a great game. Take down the green wave!

A very entertaining game where the HUGE underdog almost took a bite out of the big dog at the party!!! Having said that, Hermantown dominated the game pure and simple. Luverne's goaltender put on quite a show and have not seen a goaltender play this well under constant attack since Charlie Lindgren did playing for Lakeville North. Hermantown was all over Luverne for most all of the game but Luverne was able to keep it close due to goaltending! All the kids played hard and congratulations to both teams on a great game!

Played a great game. I do have to say a lot of the shots were directly at the L on his jersey though. A majority of his saves were due to being in excellent position.

Luverne absolutely had enough chances to win that game yesterday. Some questionable spacing on some of their breakouts and 2-1's in my opinion. Sure seemed like a couple people (14,9) wanted to shoot and possibly score on bad angles rather than take a better option on a pass.

Don't know if it would have changed the final outcome, but it sure looked like those 2 wanted to do it themselves and the later of the 2 didn't seem to have near the conditioning as the other 2. Hard to attack a team like Hermantown with only 2 forwards trying to set up initially in the zone.

All that said Luverne played an excellent game that was exciting to watch, that top line of juniors (assuming they aren't leaving?) are going to be very exciting to watch next year. If they stay Luverne back to state next year no question.

Well...just get to State as a AA team...and we will see. If they ever do represent 7AA...pretty sure NE Minnesota will overwhelmingly support them.

Well, after a bad game yesterday, the Green Wave played the style of game they are capable of today. 49 shots on net and a 5 - 2 win.

But, Luverne is definitely showing they belong.
What is a Green Wave anyway?

I wasn't aware they made anything worse than the Rex. Except possibly Boxer.
