Coaching Changes 2017-18
1. Chaska-Chan -
2. Rochester JM -
3. Holy Angels -
Hmmm maybe RL was from last year, seems some that were up last week disappeared. These 3 are the only three girls openings on MSHSL now.

4. Mound Westonka -
5. BSM - Shjon Podein
#5 reported by David La Vaque at Strib, that was quick, I had heard rumors of this happening around holiday time. On one hand it is surprising, but this is a school that has a history of letting parents with money make decisions for the sports programs. Sounds like Podein will bring in a pretty good group of skaters with him.

Re: Mound is open on Mshsl site
It is no longer on MSHSL website, just the boys one is there. Did they find someone already? Is there something wrong with the site? Seems like jobs are up then they are gone???????notahockeyguy wrote:No it was instigated by parents and AD at Mound

I don't think the opening at BSM was ever posted. Maybe they knew who the new coach would be some time ago???

Holy Angels is co-oped with Richfield.MNHockeyFan wrote:Just thought they might want to get the word out, like Holy Angels which does have their opening posted. But obviously BSM saw no need, since they (apparently) had already come to agreement with the new coach.hockeydad wrote:As a private school, BSM has no legal requirement to post the job

I don't think anyone is arguing the legal requirements, I think it's more words of caution to be careful of the deals you make.hockeydad wrote:As a private school, BSM has no legal requirement to post the job
I think in most professions employers want to cast a wide net even if they have a candidate in mind, as you always want to know who is out there, and if there are people who are better for your organization. My main point was I think this decision was made a while ago and that was too bad for the current staff, because I don't think they were in the know on what was transpiring behind the scenes.

Mainly employers do it because of EOE and if they get audited, they can show a fair hiring process. That's about 80% of the time if they have a candidate in mind.JJhockeySS wrote:I don't think anyone is arguing the legal requirements, I think it's more words of caution to be careful of the deals you make.hockeydad wrote:As a private school, BSM has no legal requirement to post the job
