Games vs out of state teams
Just curious if there are any games scheduled vs out of state teams besides the usual games we see every year as in Duluth East vs. Superior. Thanks

A quick scan shows there are 85 games scheduled between Minnesota teams and a non-Minnesota teams. Superior usually led the out-of-state schools in games against Minnesota teams, and they have 7 scheduled this season. But MayPort (who the heck is this, other than a team based in North Dakota??) has 11 games.
La Crescent leads Minnesota schools in games scheduled against out of state competition, with a slate of 11 games. Not a surprise, given their position right on the Sconnie border. I believe (might be wrong) they were once in a conference with a bunch of Wisconsin schools, but now play an independent schedule.
This list will probably grow at mnhockeyhub adds more games to their schedule.

Yea, I think they just have "fake" schools in MN. Cheaters...elliott70 wrote:Centennial and Edina are either in Iowa or Wisconsin. NOT the REAL MN anyway.zooomx wrote:out of state. j/k
What is a Green Wave anyway?
Breck has a game against Hudson, the defending Wisconsin champs. Holy Angels plays River Falls and Somerset. University School of Milwaukee will be in the open division of the Schwans Cup, which is rather silly since they are one of the more successful Wisconsin programs over the past decade.
Fort Frances, Ontario always plays a handful of games against Northwest Minnesota competition, including a traditional home and home with cross-border rival International Falls.
It should be noted that the Minnesota State High School League has rather archaic rules when it comes to interstate competition. The league must pre-approve any contest that involves more than 600 miles of round-trip travel. This is not as big of a deal in hockey where there is plentiful in state competition. However, it is a limiting factor for sports like lacrosse, where the stronger Minnesota teams should be attempting to schedule against better competition in places like Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, etc.

Yeah, surprised me also but it's true.zooomx wrote:Surprised to see Breck in this post.Teak wrote:For the second year in a row, Fargo Davies is participating in the Marshall Tigers Thanksgiving Tournament. Last year's lineup included Pine City and Henry Sibley. This year includes Pine City and Breck.
MN Hockey Hub has the following schedule:
Thur, Nov 24
Fargo Davies - Breck 6 pm
Pine City - Marshall 7 pm
Fri, Nov 25
Third place - 1 pm
Championship - 3 pm
However, the text below says this:
Marshall hosts a round robin and faces Class 1A power, Breck, in the second game of the day at Red Baron Arena. Pine City Area will battle North Dakota’s consolation state champion Fargo Davies in the opener.
Whatever. Breck is coming to Marshall. Fargo Davies won this mini-tourney last year and it was a fun one to attend.
It's a nice arena, and sounds like some fun games. Did not mean any offense. Just surprised to see a team like Breck in a tourney with PCA and Marshall.Teak wrote:Yeah, surprised me also but it's true.zooomx wrote:Surprised to see Breck in this post.Teak wrote:For the second year in a row, Fargo Davies is participating in the Marshall Tigers Thanksgiving Tournament.
