Elliot is missing in action with his games for the day threads. Hockey hub and Doug can only get what is sent leaving a hole.

In what may be a boys hockey first, both backup goalies in the Mayo vs. Redwood Valley games are girls.

The Mayo backup, Makayla Pahl, is a U of M women's hockey recruit.

And playing on a national team in the near future.

Fargo South 4
Lourdes 0

One skater with a stellar second period for Mayo......which is a huge problem for the Cardinals as he is the referee.

Mayo up 4-2 early in the third.

From what I’ve seen in the early part of the season it looked like the Fargo Davies were pretty good. Any idea how Fargo South is? Been trying to get a read on Lourdes they’ve been in the top 20 for A in many rankings, and I’m seeing pretty mixed results..

Irondale beats Dodge County 5-0, Century beats Redwood 15-1. I was hoping for a Century vs. Irondale final as both teams are under the radar but quietyly putting in decent seasons for teams no one really expects too. I thought both teams were the better teams in their first games but lost so I will have to settle for watching them in the 5th place game.

I'd be fairly shocked if New Richmond doesn't win the tournament.

Lourdes has some decent talent but is not deep at all. They haven't been all that competitive in games against tougher teams...New Prague, Cathedral...teams that can throw more than one at them. They also have a loss to Austin on the books.

New Richmond 6

Century has played 10 games, in 2 they have faced a female goalie.....Mayo and Redwood Valley.

Mayo beats New Richmond 4-3. Mayo is improving steadily.

Crazy how things work, Redwood Valley finishes 8th yet were in it until killing penalty after penalty took them out in the first round game against Mayo.

Irondale beats Century for 5th in a penalty fest, Century came in 7-1 playing pretty good hockey. They leave going 1-2 and looking like a undisciplined mess. Irondale has a darn good goalie, they could be a tough out in 4AA.

#17 for Redwood would play meaningful minutes for any high school team in the state.

Fargo South wins the other bracket, somehow with 3 of the 4 teams going 2-1. Lourdes goes 0-3.

Hub shows Roseau lost to Eau Claire WI tonight. Possibly the first time they’ve ever lost to a Wisconsin team? Based on the stats it looks like they had a fire up their a$$ to make sure that didn’t happen. Down 3-0 going into the third they put up 23 shots in the period and scored 3 to tie it up in front of the home crowd. I bet it was NUTS! They lost in OT though...
