Happy Hockey Day! Elliott must be sleeping in.

St. Cloud Cathedral and Generic St. Cloud tied at 2 early in the 2nd out on Lake George right now.

That game got out of hand in a hurry. Generic has been pretty good this year, so it was surprising to see Cathedral blow the doors off them in the latter half of the game.

Quick goal at the end of 2, quick goal at start of 3 and that was it.

East 10, Roseau 3...was 2-0 after 1, then the Hounds blew it open from there. Garrett Worth had 5 goals, which, according to Lee, is the most by any Hound in a single game since 90-91, which is as far back as our records go. Not even Spehar did that. If Worth keeps up his current scoring pace and the Hounds get more than one playoff game, he'll have the most goals by an East forward not named Spehar in a single season. Jack FitzGerald also had a hat trick as part of the third line's four-goal day.

Fun to get a visit from the Rams, as always, even if this one got a bit out of hand.

I left home when it was 3-3, and was surprised to see how lopsided it had become. Generic St. Cloud has definitely been respectable, though they haven't faced a ton of front-line competition. Cathedral seems pretty hit-or-miss...talent-wise I think they match up with anyone in Class A, but they've hit some rough spots, too. Could be a very dangerous team if they keep putting it together like that.

Eastview beat Rosemount 3-0, about same margin as when they won in early December.

Eastview first line with Bordson and Anderson is impressive.

Rosemounts Kenefick is fun to watch, working his way through bigger kids around him, but no twine for him or anyone else

Ratzlaff is the real deal. 6.2 and 190 freshman on the blue line and with a great one timer already , the next Ryan McDonough in the making?

Great crowd, great rivalry.

#IrishDannyRyan in attendance to cheer on the Irish of course.

Thought it would be a little tighter , but still worth the trip to almost compete seeing all of Karls top 20. Trying to figure our where/when Im going to see Brainerd, at Buffalo I guess.

Lee, heard you left your hi tech control center in Maui, flew back and watched the Brainerd game? Just a rumor? Are you back on the beach yet?

No Maui yet. I learned my lesson on our first trip there--don't go to Hawaii during high school hockey season! Was able to attend both games this weekend. Friday's was a little tense at times, today was....I don't know what to call it. Was hoping to see Tracy Ostby there, but didn't recognize anyone who looked like him. :) Worth put on a show, and Fitzgerald's hat trick was icing on the cake. Going to try to get down there this week for the Prior Lake and Jefferson games.
