I think I speak on behalf of all Tonka fans that wins over Edina feel a lot better than wins over Wayzata.Slap Shot wrote:Edina needs it more and they're at home. Plus Tonka is looking bast the Hornets to Saturday in a game that determines who has ownership rights to Lake Minnetonka.
That said, Edina wins tonight at home. 4-2
You must be real fun at parties. I thought the snark would be obvious.tonkafan77 wrote:I think I speak on behalf of all Tonka fans that wins over Edina feel a lot better than wins over Wayzata.Slap Shot wrote:Edina needs it more and they're at home. Worse in person is a completely subjective statementStang5280 wrote:That was tough to even watch online, it had to be even worse in person. Edina is just a buzzsaw when they are on and the offense is clicking.LASERBLUE135 wrote:We left when it was 7-0 with a few minutes left in the 2nd. Absolute destruction

Tonight was Edina's night.
Hornets have had only two games where they didn't win by 3 goals or more - an OT win over White Bear Lake and the Schwan loss to Minnetonka where the Skippers were clearly the better team.
I was surprised how quickly folks bailed on Edina because of just one loss. They entered tonight's game #3 and were #4 a week ago behind Duluth East, Minnetonka, and St. Thomas. Good teams for sure, but when everyone plays well there's none better than Edina.
The December loss was clearly their worst game this season. Which was their best? When they took Holy Family to the woodshed 7-0 or tonight when the Skippers were tapping out before the end of 2.
Edina - Boys and Girls - will go to Sections ranked #1. Who knows what'll happen when it hits single elimination.

Agreed. I was right there in the corner taking pictures and it was inches from being in. Glockner had some amazing saves last night even though he let in seven. The game could have been worse for Tonka had it not been for him. But Walker is proving his hype and I still think Mr. Hockey is his to lose.O-townClown wrote:https://youtu.be/FT70tYF1_lU?t=42m5s
Cool move at the 42:05 mark on this YouTube clip.

Had no horse in the race last night, just went to enjoy a competitive game. Too bad it wasn't. Edina was VERY impressive with their speed and playmaking. It was every bit of a 7-0 clubbing when we left. That said, Tonka was making some nice plays of their own, but not "finishing". Game could have been 6-3 or 5-3 with some finishes by Tonka. LOTS of scoring chances on both sides!!! The speed was astonishing. My wife said she'd love to see the Wild take on Edina, lol. I understand that Walker is getting all the Mr. Hockey hype and WOW is he deserving. Makes so much happen, and he finishes! But Brinkman is an incredible talent as well. He really stood out last night. As a defenseman its hard for him to put up all the numbers of a forward, but I'd like to see him get serious recognition. Edina made a number of plays, by a number of DIFFERENT players that left people saying "oh wow!". Lets see how the rest of the season plays out. Last night they were fantastic.

Brinkman is only a Jr. so he can’t win the award this year. If he stays he will definitely be in consideration next year. In regard to scoring chances, that is what unnerves me as an Edina alum. Mackay is a great guy to have in net, but without the shutdown D he has been receiving in front of him, I don’t know if Edina would have only lost a single game. He doesn’t often face many shots (16.9/start).LASERBLUE135 wrote:I understand that Walker is getting all the Mr. Hockey hype and WOW is he deserving. Makes so much happen, and he finishes! When you put the only team you’ve lost to this year, the #1 ranked team in the state, on running time...you are (now) clearly the #1 team. I was at the game and it was a beat down...pure & simple. If Glockner hadn’t made several big saves in the first 2 periods, it might have been 10-zip, Edina Dominated this particular game that badly.
59---Beat down is the right word
West Metro and thousands of other fans were hoping for a closer game either way.
FTP advance non scientific poll of 750 people was very close to 50/50
Braemar was as full as Ive seen in many many years
Somebody said YHH had 5000 views and SOH had 2000 views, which combined at 7000 had to be close to or else was a MSHSL livestream record.
All we needed was a close game, but what we got was a beatdown!

Agree with this. If every team played it's absolute best I think Edina and Duluth East will be hard to beat.O-townClown wrote:Tonight was Edina's night.
