Mahtomedi vs Hermantown

Post by elliott70 »

I would think this game could go either way.
1 vs. 2, it should be an exciting game.

Hermantown is at home so I would give them the edge.

Ran up to this one after the East game ended and walked in a couple minutes, though I'm somewhat wishing I'd gone to STA-DM instead now. Anyway, it was a strong Hawk win. Biondi scored all four Hermantown goals, and the front-end talent the Hawks have in a kid like him is what separates them from the other good Class A teams. I also think Cole Manahan deserves some credit; every time I've seen him this season, he's looked very solid in net, and he sees a bit more action than some other Hawk goaltenders have in recent seasons.

I think the Zephyrs could plausibly beat Hermantown if they can keep the score down, but falling behind early is a tough proposition for them. They had some good sequences, particularly in the 2nd, but they're not going to overwhelm another good team, and need Huber in goal to come up big. When it comes to a pound-for-pound matchup, though, I think Hermantown will face a tougher test in the 7A final.
