I think it is a pretty silly scoring system that you receive more points in meaningless SOG "bonus" than for actually predicting the winners. Also, getting a point for having the score correct is pretty much luck, no?

Some good teams in Centennial, Hill-Murray, Edina, and Eden Prairie. Maybe Andover. Should be a good tournament.

OF course , SOG are meaningless...to pick a game winner, you have a 50/50 chance, picking a correct score is pure luck albeit scores have tendencies, picking 1 game out of 16 is a more difficult task hence more points awarded....technically, picking a team out of 32 is the most difficult so BONUS 2 should have even more value...as for being SILLY, good-god I hope so!


o-town, for your picks above
on the BONUS pick 1 and 3 you need to pick a game ....
on the BONUS 2 need to pick a team....

After re-reading my directions, i realize how unclear the BONUS pt directions were...I changed the directions..

BONUS 1(YOU pick a game that you think will have the most combined total SOG of all of the quarterfinal games,AA or A)

BONUS 2(YOU pick a team that will have the most SOG of all the teams in a quarterfinal game, AA or A)

BONUS 3(YOU pick a GAME that you think will have the LEAST combined SOG in a quarterfinal games,AA or A)

If you play just one of the tourneys, yes,but, picking the BONUS are significantly more difficult than picking game winners. Try you luck..

Just a quick scan through shows that everyone missed Proctor/Hermantown's upset win over 3rd-seeded Red Wing, and quite a few had the Wingers advancing to the final.

And only mnhockey3535 and feranged had Alexandria prevailing over St. Paul United - good call by these two.

Looking forward to the AA games today.

All the computer rankings missed the PH upset over RW - and the coaches did too.

The coaches correctly predicted the Alex/SPU game but all the computer rankings missed that one too.

Only one I missed was Eagan's win over H-M. 6 of 7 points. I was wrong on all the scores. No idea if I scored 9 bonus points or not.

Looks like I went 5 for 7 in each tourney with 3 bonus points (BONUS 2 - Breck with 54 shots in their game vs. Marshall :shock:).

13 points total.

The AA TOURNEY started Thurs, the morn session started with CENT blanking LVL S (2-0). CENT winning was no surprise to our players, as all of us chose CENT. Notable that LSQRANK was the only contestant to get a CORRECT SCORE pt. I say notable,because, it was the only CORRECT SCORE pt awarded in the AA TOURNEY.

The 2nd game of the morning caught everyone off-guard when unseeded EAGAN beat #3SEEDED HILL MURRAY, well almost everyone , since HANSONBROTHER had the insight to pick the upset.

The evening session started well for the contestants since everyone picked EDINA to prevail. The 2nd game proved more difficult . The fortunate four(O-TOWN,HANSON,MN3535,& SINBIN) had EP winning while the other 7 players put their money on ANDOVER.

Strange thing about the AA TOURNEY, was that 3/4 of the quarterfinal games were SHUT-OUTS. Now, I can see were B/LF having only 10 shots would be held to 0 goals, but , ANDOVER with 29 shots & LVL S having 32 shots , one might assume that a goal would have been scored.

Next we have our SEMIFINAL PICKS;

Very easy, everyone chose Edina and Centennial, EXCEPT,SPARLIMB(HM in 6OT's) and MN3535(HM)

For the CHAMP picks all but 2 chose EDINA...(SPARLIMB(HM) & FERANGED(CENT))

Night session begins, again everyone picks WARROAD win, but, zero CORRECT SCORE pts.

Second game, almost a repeat of the morn. However,MN3535,FERANGED,& SINBIN pull a fast one and pick ALEXANDRIA......Furthermore, MN3535 & FERANGED a CORRECT SCORE pt each....the only 2 in the A TOURNEY...NICE JOB!
