Smalley is the only high school coach in the hunt, looks like it may be Millenkniven wrote:Should be interesting who they hire. When will it be announced, anybody?

4 out of 80. That’s a lot of applicants. I think they have a nice hockey program there at CSS.

CSS is/must be a very nice Div3 hockey program to attract so many candidates.kniven wrote:Interesting.
Re: Is Greenway turning into Hermantown?
Any solid rumors on the hiring decision for the next men's hockey head skipper at CSS?

Final candidates will be interviewed over the next couple of weeks. Probably nothing to report until end of May.kniven wrote:Any solid rumors on the hiring decision for the next men's hockey head skipper at CSS?

Hibbing hockey puts out some serious talent in hockey that’s for sure. I can see them making several runs at state after hermantown exits A ihigh school hockey in a year. 7A will magically become an instant classic with Hibbing’ Greenway’ and Virginia battling it out every yeargreenwayraider wrote:Hermantown misses out on a very good hockey player in Gernander’s kid. He could have been a teammate with his cousin Darian Gotz.
Kniven- didn't you jump the gun on a welcoming Hermantown to AA a year ago? Big post on here? What makes you so sure you have it right this time?kniven wrote:Hibbing hockey puts out some serious talent in hockey that’s for sure. I don't know if Greenway is turning into Hermantown or not, but Greenway should win 7A next year. They might only have a one year window, but they are actually better than Hermantown next year. Hermantown had a one year lag on transfers, and that should be enough for Greenway to break through. After that, Hermantown goes back on another 10 year run of Class A titles. I really hope Greenway can get it done this year.

You are right. Ville and mom will be living in Bovey. Greenway should be competitive with every A team and even some AA teams. Greenway will find out fast if they will compete when they play Mound and Chaska the first weekend on the road.Jeffy95 wrote:He will be back. Already a done deal.greenwayraider wrote:If Ville (goalie) can return I think Greenway will have a good shot at beating Hermantown. Without him or a vastly improved JV goalie it will be very difficult to beat Hermantown.
