North vs. South

Post by blueblood »

Lots of 218 vs. 952/612/763 match-ups tonight involving some highly ranked team in A and AA. I have the northern boys wining 4 of these match-ups.

C-E-C vs. Chaska
Duluth East vs. WBL
Grand Rapids @ Minnetonka
Hermantown @ Wayzata
Roseau vs. Centennial

Cloquet or kiss the season good-bye just as it is starting.

Duluth East vs. WBL
DEast is #1.5 in the state for a reason.

Grand Rapids @ Minnetonka
Hope it stays in stop time.

Hermantown @ Wayzata
This will be a good test but I think HT has the goaltender to carry them through close games.

Roseau vs. Centennial
Roseau, I always (almost) pick Roseau, but they need to prove to everyone they are real.

I think CEC is in trouble tonight. Chaska will be looking to take out last nights loss on my Lumberjacks. WBL will be ALPO soft serve against the Hounds tonight. If Rapids goes up 2-0 early, maybe it’s interesting. Their hoping the orange sweaters will intimidate the young ones. Hermantown will/should get the W. Hounds and Hawks are the Duluth areas best programs year in and out by 10,000 miles. Roseau is like old money. Her name gives her respect big time. Everybody pulls for Roseau.

Eveleth upsetting Chaska doesn’t bode well for the Lumberjacks tonight, so I like Chaska, although Chaska is clearly not the same team (minus Koster) I like DE tonight, although keep in mind, minus Gallatin & (evidently) another player who left to play USHL, this group of WBL Juniors & sophomores were the AA Bantam State Champions 2 yrs ago. Roseau will beat Centennial (with Hulgen back) Hermantown over Wayzata & TONKA will crush GR, Clafton will face 50 shots tonight ☝️

kniven with a classic take that we all love him for, "WBL will be ALPO soft serve for the Hounds" =D>

I always love that one... (KFAN reference)

Cam Berg played for that White Bear bantam team, playing with Omaha in the USHL now and committed to Omaha.

Alright, I'll hazard a few guesses:

C-E-C vs. Chaska - two teams in purple that have hit some stumbling blocks early. I expect this one to be a track meet. Maybe they'll atone, but I have enough questions after watching Chaska's D (and health) last night that I'll take the Jacks.
Duluth East vs. WBL - Bears could be sneaky good this year, but as long as the Hounds don't get lulled into the trap their talent should take this one.
Grand Rapids @ Minnetonka - Skippies with ease
Hermantown @ Wayzata - Since everyone else is taking the Hawks, I'll go with Wayzata's depth and D here.
Roseau vs. Centennial - Rams should have the talent to pull this out as long as the lower lines can hold their own.

I agree that Wayzata has the D to win, but in think that Biodi is going to come in pretty hot tonight. There are few, if any, D men in the state that can play with him, and his precision and speed are with out doubt the best in the game tonight.

I really hope Wayzata wins, but I see Biodi putting a few in quick and Wayzata shutting down/Hawks getting motivated. I'll grab an ot win 4-3 Hawks.

Chaska opened up a can of whoop a@# on CEC tonight. 4- 0 Knivsy called it.
Tonka took 'Rapidly Declining' to the woodshed.

I think the South did very well in these early season match ups.
