Maple Grove 4, Lakeville South 2 final
Fairly even game, but Wieneke made some big saves and LS had trouble containing MG’s top line. Crimson will pose a real test for Tonka tomorrow.

Blake Biondi & Joey Pierce are a wrecking crew on HT’s top line☝️Joe Miller & Tristan Broz looking good for Blake.

A bit of a contrast in styles. Not that Biondi and Pierce are monsters, but those Blake guys are tiny and fast, and fun to watch. I wish that tournament was being streamed.

Stillwater faces their first real competition and loses 4-3 to a STA. Good showing for them, they seem like a legit borderline top 10 team and will contend in the 4AA.

Hermantown 4 (en) Blake 1 FINAL. Biondi & Pierce simply too strong & skilled today. HT goalie Manahan also played really well. Shots were 36-26 HT

CEC keeps close to Tonka all the way, then a questionable penaltiy on CEC with 4 left results in Tonka Ppg, then they added an ENG for the win. Tonka was the better team for sure, but congrats to CEC for a great effort.

Just a terrible, undisciplined penalty by M Langenbrunner to give Tonka GW PP. Skipper player may have gone down a bit easy, but he gave a good 4 crosschecks to the guy’s back for no great reason. Solid effort but darn what a frustrating way for Jacks to end it.

Do you put Biondi in the top 3 offensive players in the state?

Fast forward a year . Can Pierce be a top 5 offensive player next season?

I don’t know if there is a better F in the State than Blake Biondi 🏒The kid never lost a battle for the puck along the boards today, great vision, GREAT FINISHER around the net. And strong as a bull. While not what I consider explosively fast in transition, a powerful skater with great hands and a very high compete level. A legitimate 6’0” 185-190 lb player (size wise). Now...should HT not opt up to AA (and maybe even if they do opt up) I believe there’s a good chance BB either plays for a USHL team next year or for the U18 NDTP team☝️AND if this occurs, Pierce will still be very good, but not as effective (as he is) in tandem with BB. But...however it turns out, Pierce will end up on a top D1 team either as a F or D...he’s that good, he’s nearly as big as BB, not quite as strong physically (although it’s close) and he’s a sophomore & Biondi a junior. And yes, Pierce will be a top 5 skater (next season).

Not the same player (ML didn’t play against DE) but Cloquet did the exact same thing leading DE by one goal with 4 minutes remaining in the 3rd period (& lost in OT). Point is GOOD teams find a way to win, teams that aren’t quite there...find a way to lose. Cloquet needs to evolve into the former, rather than remaining the latter.

I couldn't agree more. Teams that are close let their emotions get the best of them. Teams that are there do not.
