Re: Games Friday
CP Boynton is a top notch goalie, many thought he should have made the Elite league cut, but he had a great preseason with the U18 Blades

Re: Games Friday
3-1 Champlin Park. SOG 50-21 East so I'd say their goalie lived up to the hype.
Hounds need to bounce back against Blaine tomorrow night.
Probably their biggest upset loss since Denfeld took them down 5-4 nearly six years ago.

Incredible, you cant make this stuff up. Hot goaltending, the great equalizer.

Boynton is legit, definitely the biggest upset of the year I'd say.

Re: Games Friday
I hate being right, but I did call it a trap game in this week's rankings. The Hounds' lack of offense so far this season was probably going to catch up with them sooner or later, and a game against a strong goalie and a passable, somewhat underrated team the night before a big match-up with a top 10 opponent set off the alarm bells. Ugly, but it's December, and they'll have ample chances to bounce back over the next couple of weeks.

Re: Games Friday
It also didn't help that the reffing towards the end of the game was bad. Multiple deast kids were getting pounded on, and not a call until about 20 seconds left when Paine took a shot to the head from behind. Lyle was also getting double teamed in front of the net and ended up getting injured. Donovan played very well in the third period. Speed was evident.
The CPs credit they played hard the whole game, and the Boynton played lights out. Final shot count 56-22 DE. CP played like the better team for most of the game. When DE went to 2 lines the game changed and CP just held on for the win. Huge win for CP.

I’m loving the parity this year! Rankers.... maybe not so much.

It was definitely the refs that cost DE the game. Donovan was easily the fastest player on the ice in the scoreless third period. That guy for that thing wrote: ↑Fri Dec 28, 2018 9:30 pm It also didn't help that the reffing towards the end of the game was bad. Boynton can steal games from anyone, though. Looks like he was an absolute superhero against East tonight. He really should be on recruiting radars.
Speaking of upsets, Delano knocked off Greenway 4-3, which is not far behind on the surprise scale. Just when it looked like the Raiders were rounding into form, they go and lay an egg like that.

Re: Games Friday
Tip of the cap to CP goalie Brennan Boynton who made 50+ saves tonight as the Rebels SHOCK the Hounds 3-1

Not before RL took two ill timed penalties in the 3rd period. Hopefully RL injury is not too seriousThat guy for that thing wrote: ↑Fri Dec 28, 2018 9:30 pm It also didn't help that the reffing towards the end of the game was bad. Agreed on the penalties. Not sure I agree with the knee too much, but he was frustrated and trying to hit too hard.hockey59 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 28, 2018 10:17 pmNot before RL took two ill timed penalties in the 3rd period. Re: Games Friday
I wasn’t saying the refs were the only reason DE lost. Boynton stood on his head and DE wasn’t playing with urgency until the third. They have to play like the third the whole game.WarmUpTheBus wrote: ↑Fri Dec 28, 2018 10:01 pmIt was definitely the refs that cost DE the game. That Guy
I have to check the CP lineup to see which guys are able to get the best of beating on Paine and Lyle !

Hastings beat Eagan 4-3, Eagan just pasted Lakeville North. Hastings is quietly putting together a nice season and looking at a top seed in their section.

Re: Games Friday
Neither Christian Miller or Ben Troumbly played. Greenway still should have beaten Delano though.Stang5280 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 28, 2018 10:09 pm Boynton can steal games from anyone, though. Looks like he was an absolute superhero against East tonight. He really should be on recruiting radars.

Re: Games Friday
It sounds more like a lack of goal scoring that cost East the game.WarmUpTheBus wrote: ↑Fri Dec 28, 2018 10:01 pmIt was definitely the refs that cost DE the game. Nope, it was the refs and did I mention how fast Donovan looked?northwoods oldtimer wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 6:47 amIt sounds more like a lack of goal scoring that cost East the game.WarmUpTheBus wrote: ↑Fri Dec 28, 2018 10:01 pmIt was definitely the refs that cost DE the game. Re: Games Friday
Thanks for the context on the Greenway game. Those two are definitely key players for the Raiders, and it’s too bad the team wasn’t at full strength. Hopefully they are back to face Mahtomedi today? Delano has been playing better of late, but still a bad L for Greenway.greenwayraider wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 5:21 amNeither Christian Miller or Ben Troumbly played.
