YHH HS Hockey Podcast, 12/31/18 feat. Jack Jensen

Post by karl(east) »

Tony, Danny, and I (plus Jack Jensen) did a show yesterday morning, including reactions to a very eventful week of games, my rankings, and Tony's favorite segment, buy or sell. Jack joins us at the 40:00 mark for an interview and his picks in this week's big games.

Just curious how many Blake varsity players were developed within the Edina youth hockey association?
AND, if it looked like they would/could make Edina varsity, would be going to school at Edina, not Blake.
I think of 2 players right away....
This is why Blake is good IMHO.

Blake may be the trendy pick, but they are looking at the 4/5 seed in their section and would have to beat 3 quality teams to advance to state.

I agree with that, they are good and very good compared to year's past but they have to go through some combination BSM, Cretin, Wayzata, & Edina. To be honest I do not see them doing that but I also can't picture any other 4/5 seed in any AA section doing that.

I liked the question about # of Edina kids on roster.

So I did a quick scan of the roster.

There are 22 players listed on the Hub. By my local knowledge here is what I know:

9 from MPLS
6 from Edina
1 from Orono
1 from Bloomington
1 from Osseo
1 from Hopkins

There are three I don't recognize (Meskan, Nelson, Chancellor).

I will save my OpEd for the Pod.
