No Montage Video
We didn't even get a montage video from Prep 45 at the end of their broadcast. Anyone know the reason for that?
Re: No Montage Video
Was waiting for that too....But it's a fair trade for the free stream out here in Utah.
Buy ya a soda after the game!

I heard Doug Mcleod was in charge of it but he he took the tape with him when he left GB
Re: No Montage Video
This was a bummer. Always one of the best parts of the tournament since they started doing it.

Re: No Montage Video
This was the second or third year since they've done one.
I know the guy who assembled it each year. It became a budgetary issue (it wasn't cheap to produce).
On a whole, the quality of the broadcast is NHL-like, we shouldn't complain.

Re: No Montage Video
It's not the official montage video, but someone made a video of every goal from the tourney:

That's not correct. They did one each year since 2012 with the most recent on on YouTube at https://youtu.be/_hUzuTm400AYouthHockeyHub wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 7:51 am This was the second or third year since they've done one.

I tweeted with the guy who made them, Steve Wasserman who said that he wasn't working the Tourney for "several reasons".
They do a great job, but it was just disappointing as I loved cranking up the TV in the press box each year to watch it.
Re: No Montage Video
Really? How expensive can it be? Its just clips from the tournament edited together with some music.YouthHockeyHub wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 7:51 am This was the second or third year since they've done one.

Re: No Montage Video
Not to change the subject but does anyone remember when FSN used to show a episode called ice dreams ? talked about the old days of the tournament that video was awesome I wish they would show it more and make a few more new ones.
Re: No Montage Video
The expense is time: basically four days for that person when not much else gets accomplished, and also time in the editing suite which is considerable. It's amazing how long it takes to load in the video and render everything. During the loading, editing, and rendering process, the editing suite can't be utilized for other uses, such as (but not limited to) editing for newscasts or commercial production that produces revenue. Resources are not unlimited.Joe2015 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 6:23 amReally? How expensive can it be? Re: No Montage Video
But they already have highlights from each game already: https://kstp.com/sports/kstp-sports-201 ... 722/?cat=7
Most of these are as long or longer than the montage video usually is. So it would just taking a bunch of clips that already have edited and putting it together in one video. Most of your work is already done
