Does anyone know when the section will be updated for the next two years?

I see they are having a meeting this Friday on competitive section appeals. So I think next Friday the 22nd if roughly the date they’ll announce them.

Really hope they put Centennial in 4AA and ER/Andover in 5AA. Of course, I want this to happen every two years and sounds like the changes will be pretty minor this year so don’t have too high of hopes.

Have heard rumors of Brainerd being moved to 7AA. Hopefully they’ll move Andover to 5AA

I would be very surprised if they moved Brainerd out of 8AA in a minor adjustment year. Who would move into 8AA at that point?

What I have heard it is more likely GRapids be moved to 8AA with 7AA becoming an I35 - Hwy 10 610 corridor thing.

We had Cathedral and Hermantown at the same time for a while and no talent stayed at the other eight programs in the section. Parity would be for Cathedral and Hermantown to go to AA where they belong!

Not if they played the same schedule as they played this year...already playing Moorhead, Roseau, Brainerd, etc. Playoffs at the Sanford Center in Bemidji would be less travel than trips to Amsoil.

They already play Moorhead, Roseau, Bemidji and Brainerd.
They already travel to the metro frequently so getting in a game with St Cloud or St Michael should not be too hard. And not everyone plays everyone.

I just don’t see them moving Rapids from 7AA as I think they want to keep 7/8 sections “northern”. I think the HS league has their meeting yesterday on team appeals for opting up/ down. So hopefully welll have the new sections by next week. I thought I read somewhere about a month ago March 22nd was the day.

Agree. Just doesn’t seem to make sense geographically, which seems to be the primary factor. Also doesn’t seem like a move you’d make during a minor tweak year.

And what if Marshall moves down which seems possible.

The MSHSL cancelled the meeting scheduled for today and rescheduled it for April 3rd.

Yea, I am wondering this is well as I hear it went from an action item to a discussion item which I interpret as it is not a done deal. Maybe they are allowing some schools to appeal, it is an interesting development none the less.
