Knocked off the Cake 5-3 in semi final and took down OMG juggernaut 2-1 in the Final.

Watched the 3rd period and OT. Great zone pressure by the Warriors in the OT, and a great win. Love those Unis. Nice job by John Conley OTC on the call.

Bantam AA was a snooze. Turned it off after the first. Hoped CC could keep it closer, although they were a dark horse for the finals anyway. OMG was really strong.

I think it’s their second straight year of winning it. Hopefully it leads to a section championship in the next few years.

So, I am pretty sure this is mostly the same group that won the Pee Wee Class A championship last year. Not Bantams.
But, non the less, they look to be headed for some good HS years coming up.

And East Grand Forks finished third in regions losing to Alex for the state berth spot after beating them in the semis and losing to Warroad in the regions finals.

Just a note related to the high school level that Hermantown, Mahtomedi, and St. Cloud kids are all playing AA at this age. Some of their major competitors at high school might be different than they are now.

I know EGF had at least one (possibly 2) Bantam kids playing on the High School team that went to State.

8A has got a healthy niche of teams. Less liberal politics to over regulate and ruin those communities.

For sure. I do enjoy seeing Warroad overcome EGF and TRF at these levels because it’s important for manning state. It was probably 5 or 6 years ago that Warroad realistically had a top 3 team in class A bit couldn’t get past the EGF buzzsaw in the section finals for two years. Gotta make it to the X first!
