Plenty of drama so stay tuned for the ugly details as they come out over the next few weeks. AD quit over the deal (ordeal). Actual top candidate turned it down. Not sure TE was even in the initial interview process. What a mess.

Good for Bob Slater. It’s nice to see someone with integrity.

Westy, you know better than that. In Minnesota High School hockey, job one nowadays is to identify the major boosters and make sure their kids are taken care of, unless of course its those same boosters who got you hired in the first place (see LVN) then you already know who they are.

Tough to elaborate without crossing a few lines. Headmaster is the problem. The two finalists were outstanding candidates and the top one turned down the offer after much of this went down. Second candidate wasn't even offered the spot. New search took place late. Ugly scenario for sure. Best of luck to TE. Hopefully things work out for him and the school.GoBigorGoHome wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 9:16 amPlease elaborate. What have you heard? You must be referring to the owner of MAP South. What do you do if your child is an above avg player but you have millions laying around? You buy / create MAP South and then go buy the Bantam Elite League from doofus over at YHH.
At least Eigner has the recruiting thing down...should be a seamless transition for him at STA.

Re: 2019-2020 Coaching Changes List
I was mostly referring to what happened when TP and JE brought TE in at LVN, but I'm not surprised at your comments re situation over at STA. At LVN when TP and JE kicked out the old coach and brought TE in, TE, knowing where his bread is buttered, did everything to ensure TP's and JE's kids got special treatment. He even put one of JE's kids on 2nd line varsity as a sophomore which turned out to be embarrassing for everyone involved, but didn't stop him from doing it again the next year. Unfortunately, karma intervened and the kid got hurt, and missed almost all of his junior year. Tough to see a kid get hurt, but he was in over his head, and hearing about the varsity parents who seemed glad the kid got hurt was pretty sad.thefatcat wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 9:42 amGoBigorGoHome wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 11:31 amWesty, you know better than that. Re: 2019-2020 Coaching Changes List
To add on to the STA "boosters", you have another multi-millionaire who happens to be the brother of a former USA hockey exec who passed away too early last year, very sad. His kid is also above avg. but plays with the other millionaire's kid at Sibley BAA and subsequently will also play at STA (because he's not good enough to make it at Edina...but lots of kids are not good enough to make it there so there's that). Do you think TE will be influenced by the fat wallets those two wield?GoBigorGoHome wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2019 9:02 amI was mostly referring to what happened when TP and JE brought TE in at LVN, but I'm not surprised at your comments re situation over at STA. Re: 2019-2020 Coaching Changes List
What is total number of AD’s the hiring of Eigner has brought down? 3 I think. 2 at North and now one at STA. Hockey people wield a lot of power I guess. At least in the STA case a couple of dads didn’t have resort to trashing an upstanding teacher and coach in school board meetings to get their desired results.
Even with all the backing Eigner has had one year of success and a year or two where is team overachieved, cripes, they barely beat Owatonna last year and were run out of the building by South last year. Moving into a tougher section makes jumping ship an easy decision.
I think Eigner is a decent coach and a decent guy, being associated with Tim Poehling and others doesn’t help his standing in most people’s mind. This won’t help him or STA.

Re: 2019-2020 Coaching Changes List
Not that it invalidates any of your other points, but LVN was only moved out of 1AA on the girls’ side. You still have at least two more years of hoping that Hastings or someone else can break the streak of all-Lakeville finals.
Re: 2019-2020 Coaching Changes List
As usual, you are correct. For whatever reason I had it in my head North was moved when Northfield became AA. They were moved in basketball, now that the Hurt boys have graduated

Has any of the juicy details leaked out of Mendota Heights yet? I'm actually looking forward to hearing how this went down and who hand their hands in itoldschoolpuckster wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 5:58 pm Plenty of drama so stay tuned for the ugly details as they come out over the next few weeks. As a private school, are there meetings subject to open meeting laws? That is where much of the Lakeville North stuff came from.thefatcat wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 3:43 pmHas any of the juicy details leaked out of Mendota Heights yet? Re: 2019-2020 Coaching Changes List
Has the potential to be a decent coach once JE's kids are gone from the program. Until then, as an employee of one of the many Enebak companies, for the next 3 years he will do exactly as JE tells him to do.
Re: 2019-2020 Coaching Changes List
Nope. While private schools certainly have advantages with regard to recruiting, it is also easy for a rogue administrator or board member to derail a program with their meddling. At least public school hiring decisions are subject to public input and scrutiny, even if people ultimately may disagree with the decision.goldy313 wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 10:24 pmAs a private school, are there meetings subject to open meeting laws?
