Very entertaining game.
I was unfortunately a little distracted watching the game. For those who watched it more closely, would these takeaways be accurate?

EGF had much more zone time and possession. However, premium scoring chances were lacking and Orono protected Grandy well until late in the third. (And the Wave got a bit lucky with the goalie breaking his stick.)

Orono transition game was dangerous, and they took advantage of their opportunities well.

EGF top line was difficult for Orono to handle, but they did match up pretty well in terms of depth.

Credit to Orono for making a statement to keep this one close, and goaltender did his job. But my takeaway was thought Green Wave did not live up to potential . Im assuming they played after the long bus ride, so that probably was part of it. Thought Ausmus and Parker really didnt get going until the third. Parker missed several good opportunities in the first and second, a couple of which should have been in the net IMHO. Panzer was not really a factor I didnt think. Expecting bigger things from the Wave as season progresses.

Of course a top 4 8AA team is probably a 7 or 8 seed in 1AA. Good luck in that 7th place game in the Kiwinias tournament.
Lay off the crack pipe goldy

BTW are we going to see that RC juggernaut up at St. Paul in March?
They have a good squad but not much depth, I think South and Hastings are the top two teams and Century is an a mix with North and Owatonna for the 3-5 seeds. Any of the top 5 can win the section though.

You see it neck and neck with Hastings and South or does edge go to South on experience until proven otherwise? Sounds like the section has some balance of teams to make it an interesting section in 2019!

Meh, McCarville had his first meaningful high school playoff game last year and he didn’t play well. The score was far more lopsided than the play. My guess is, much like Farmington vs North a few years, ago Hastings learned a lot in that loss and will be better this year.
