Sadly, the next biggest line item for SCSU's athletic department to look at might be womens' hockey.

Re: Sports cut
That's true and there's now one more women's sport than men's sport at SCSU, so no Title IX issue. However, I think the one small thing in favor of women's hockey is the flack that UND received for cutting their women's program. I think SCSU would like to avoid that if they could. Unfortunately, the other thing working against the women's team is that they're terrible and have been terrible for years.
Re: Sports cut
Something has to give. They can't keep raising tuition prices and etc like that have in the past. I think that this is the opening move for more to do that same.

Re: Sports cut
Football, Mens Golf, and Womens Golf were cut. Mens Soccer is being added to comply with NCAA D-II requirements for mens and womens sports in fall, winter and spring. The Exiled One wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 9:28 amThat's true and there's now one more women's sport than men's sport at SCSU, so no Title IX issue.
