Well, White Bear Lake is undefeated, though they do have a tie. The question for the room: does being undefeated with one and a half quality wins (Hill, East) and a tie against Edina eclipse being a one- or two-loss team against a tougher schedule?

Objectively it’s Spuds or WBL based on their records.
Subjectively its EP or Andover based on the warmupthebus eye test.
The tiebreaker might be goal tending so the Spuds are #1 .......for now.

Spuds will play Andover on 12/31 at home. Spuds should move up in the rankings but they don’t deserve #1 spot.

A case can be made for White Bear, Moorhead, Andover, and maybe Eden Prairie. I'm sure someone can cobble together and argument for some other team too.

Never sure how accurate the shot counts are, but considering Moorhead can easily be called #1 right now is a headdress full of feathers in the cap of their goaltender. Outshot 3:1 by Tonka, 3:2 by Edina, almost 2:1 by Eden Prairie and they've won those games in reg or pulled them out in OT. Bodes well in Sections and into March if you have the better goalie.

This certainly isn’t 2018 with Tonka, DE & Edina (& almost STA) or even last year with Edina & Tonka. There isn’t any team that’s significantly better than the rest. Moorhead, Andover, EP, WBL, even Edina & maybe Wayzata & Hill, throw them all in a hat and shuffle them around. Time will tell...a solid weekend by Rosemount & Tonka also. MG would be right there too if KK hadn’t been injured. A tough holiday for Blaine, they’re better than they showed. CDH was looking good, then they lost to Blake.

I would also agree after watching the Andover/Moorhead game in person today. Andover is very good. They beat the Spuds to loose pucks and outmuscled them in the puck battles the whole game.

The 3rd period was spent almost entirely in Moorhead's end of the ice as Andover constantly forced the Spuds to make bad outlet passes and created turnovers.
