Bemidji State U. vs. Wisconsin

Post by ThunderStorm22 »

Last year... BSU took eventual NCAA Champion Denver to overtime before losing in a heart breaker. This year BSU returns to the NCAA tournament with a little more experience. Can the Beavers give the Badgers a game? Can BSU beat Wisconsin?

Wisconsin has rebounded from their late season struggles. As much as I would like to see Bemidji State win I don't see it happening. Badgers 5-2.

It would be absolutely awesome to see the Beavers come out on top in their game with Wiscosnin, but I don't think that they'll do it and I think that Wisconsin is beginning to possibly look like they were back in mid season. Badgers take the firs round win here...4-2.

I say Bucky 7-2. It will be close most of the game, 3-2 going into the 3rd. Then Wisconsin will own the 3rd and win 7-2.

BSU in a close one...

Post by ThunderStorm22 »

BSU has had a week to rest thier legs while Wisconsin played two tough WCHA Final Five game this past weekend...

If BSU can get some solid goaltending, I think it is realistically possible for BSU to top Wisconsin in the first round!

I am going to say BSU 2-1 over Wisconsin...

Lets just hope that happens thunderstorm. It would be nice to see Wisconsin knocked off in the first round.

Why BSU?

Post by wolfpack85 »

Why does everybody want BSU to win this game? I understand that everyone likes an underdog and whatever but come on. Would you rather see first class hockey being played by Wisconsin who seems like they're finally coming around again or see Bemidji get lucky and take a win from Bucky and then get throttled by CC or Cornell? I'd much rather see UW come out of this one and make it to the national finals to lose to Minnesota...

Sounds like Golden Rat fans who are simply afraid of the Badgers. Can't blame them after last weekend's "performance".

"Goalie in the house? "Afraid" of the badgers is a little strong, but licking wounds allright. The gophs have scored 3 goals against Elliot in 3 games, shutout twice. Those 3 games played in minnesota.
I think any gopher fan will welcome the chance to take elliot and bucky on again, meaning the gophs are in the title game.

The 3 times the Gophers have faced Elliott, they were not clearly not on top of their game. The first 2 were when they were coming together back in December and still struggling, the 3rd was a night after expending so much energy in an overtime comeback effort and SCSU. I'd love to see a National Title rematch.

I like BSU... They have had a 'First Class' organization for many years now. I would like to see them continue the success that they had in DII/III by climbing the ladder in DI... Last year they made it to the NCAA's, this year they could win a game or maybe two or more...

I am not affraid of the Badgers... Nor should anyone else be. If the Badgers do well... They probably earned it. If not, they can go home... It does not matter...

It is about BSU!!! That all...

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Unfortunately, nobody liked my idea of brainwashing him into believing that every team the Dogs faced was the Gophers.

Briggs is average. Frazee, to quote the guys on "Beyond the Pond", is "a mess". Think they can win four straight shootouts and capture the title? Briggs is average, he has a good team in front of him. I would much rather see Frazee in there, while he can be a "mess" at times, his ceiling is so high. It remains to be seen how far offense can take them.

Although Elliott is a great goalie and a relative, BSU has exceptional goaltending also. And they do have 4 strong lines.
They have the ability to give Wisconsin a heck of a game.
And despite what some people have for an opinion they are a very good hockey team and will give any team in the nation a game.
