who will win the national championship

I can understand the gripes Cornell might have, last year more than this year. Last year they had an outstanding record but were stuck as a 2 seed in Minnesota. This year they weren't as good and I think this was justified, Cornell is not among the elite. The Gophers pounded Cornell in that 2-1 OT win game, the only thing that kept them in it was their goalie and a breakaway goal. If anyone has a complaint this year it's the Gophers, as they win the Mcnaughton and get rewarded by possibly playing the Sioux in Grand Forks. I don't understand the rule of if you're a host, you get to play at home.

Money in sports always takes presidence before fairness. The home team playing at home will always make more money for the NCAA than outsiders. I was really annoyed 2 weeks ago that an average squad like ND could host a region, but they are not playing average anymore, they've earned it. I do feel they should treat the NCAA's like all the other league playoffs. The higher ranked teams should get to host a region. Let all the #1 seeds host their region. Reward the good teams not the lucky ones who happen to be hosting.

It sounds like after this year the regionals are going to be held in NHL arenas. Its still money that factors into it, but at least it should be neutral ice. Go Sioux

Well well... Not one of the four teams that I had thought or hoped would be in the Frozen Four will be there in two weeks! I think quite a few people picked ND and Wisc. Congratulations to you guys! Considering the Frozen Four... All four teams certainly deserve to be there! They seem to have piqued at the right time and not one made the journey via a fluke goal... I hope the final matches ND vs Wisc. May the best team win!

I would normally root for the WCHA, but in this case the two WCHA teams are the teams I despise, although I think they are the two best teams left in the tourney. I have to concur that BC has a great shot at beating ND. They were the most impressive all around team, in my opinion, during the regionals. BC over ND in a close one! I think Bucky's Boys will beat Maine... Wisconsin over BC for the Championship With all the publicity over the years, what is with ND not changing their mascot name? I understand 'Tradition' but we are talking about a derogatory name for group of people that have ask ND to no longer use the name. One of two things can happen; they can ask the local indian tribe what name would be appropriate and change the look of the mascot or they can poll the ND fans and local residents for a new name other than Sioux... I personally like 'Survivors' after the Flood Survivors from the flood in the spring of 1996...

The Sioux Nation is a group of tribes formerly and some currently living in the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Nebraska and later beyond! Yankton Sioux from Eastern Dakotas. Santee Sioux lived in what is now Minnesota. Teton Sioux hunted west of the Missouri River. Oglala in South dakota. Maybe they should change the names of Sioux City and Sioux Falls and the Big Sioux River and Sioux Falls College and on and on to Monkey Falls and Monkey City and Monkey College and Ape University ! Dakota or Lakota had many divisions and their "preferred name" means "allies" ! UND named their sports program after the bravery of these people! Keep the name! I'm not altogether knowledgeable on this situation, but I have no problem with the Sioux name. I do think it is more of an honoring to the tribes. Teams like the Cleveland Indians, even though they are clearly not part of the NCAA probe, are ones which I could see an issue with. The term 'Indian' has become offensive to many, and there logo doesn't exactly depict the spirit of a tribe.

First let me apologize because when I get in a hurry I misspell some things. I learned to spell phonetically, which actually isn't. I will take my time on this one. UND isn't honoring the Lakota and Dakota. That is just a sad old excuse that they try and use. When they decided to become the Sioux their idea of an Indian was some wild crazy person ready to fight all the time. It wasn't like someone said,"Let's honor the Sioux who were on this land before us". All you have to do is look at the mascots images they have used since they started and it is clear. Besides if you want to honor someone, would you use the name that their ENEMIES called them in hatred? I don't hear anyone saying, how about we use the name Lakota instead of Sioux? Slappy you need to take a class that I had this year. They made us discuss a saying. It said, Only the hunter will be glorified until the lion tells its tale. You got one side of the story going through school. You might want to knowsomething about the other side before just saying it is lies. You should start with what "Indeos" means. i don't care if you want to rename some of those places, places are being renamed all over the country might just as well get started on these. May be the Lakota could suggest a name that honors white people. Oshie is a Chipp and the few other Indians that played there have been too. So let them ask the Chippewa if they can honor them. There is not a team in this world that would select a nickname, other than for pride! However, there are some elitists in unelected positions of power that want you to believe otherwise,......all this after many centurys of pride and tradition. People don't need to be told by elitists what to think and how to feel,......people can think for themselves. It is reasonable thoughtful people that will not let the elitists change the prideful tradition. The elitists have been USING a small group of Native Americans to try to advance their adgenda of taking down American traditions for 25 years or more. Frankly, this USE of people to advance an elitist adgenda is "HOSTILE and ABUSIVE", not to mention disgusting.
