I was on the phone with the MSHSL yesterday, they will not be selling any tickets to season ticket holders this year.
Makes sense. I do hope this year's ticket policy turns out to be the last. This will be the first State Tournament that I will have missed in over 40 years.

Did I read correctly that this year section games will all be played at the High Seed Location? Thought that what was written on the MSHSL website.
Yes, home ice advantage this year for the higher seed.

We use that method in Section 4AA. But not every year, sometimes we let the low seed host.

I am guessing a state tournament is a bigger option now. The ExCel charges very high rent......assuming the state still limits attendance the MSHSL could put a state tournament in hockey, wrestling, and boys basketball at a smaller venue and televise it and sell advertising. Dropping the rental fee (contracts matter) at the ExCel and playing the hockey games at Aldrich could make financial sense.
I think at this point we all understand the circumstances unfold such that a certain team or individual will be sidelined due to COVID. I also think we all except that and will move forward regardless.
Wasn't "rent" taken care of when the State of MN subsidized the construction of the building? Pretty sure it was part of the deal
Initially it was rent free but that ended years ago. A really big screw up by the legislation. Wrestling had to cut their number of days from 4 to 3 due to cost.
The Metrodome was rent free, US Bank stadium is also rent free for a certain number of days as long as it it stands, so soccer and football use it for essentially free. I don’t think we will see baseball played there though like they did in the Metrodome.
