Looks like prior Ely coach Ben Johnson will be the new coach at Rock Ridge.

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
Now, THIS has actually gotten me pretty hyped. He was the assistant coach (or Co-head coach according to chan hs athletics official twitter) for Chaska from 2016-2021. Hawks have been very respectable in those last five seasons although never making the tourney. Hopefully, he can bring some of that success over here even as an assistant!oldmaverick wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 3:18 pm Bloomfield in at Chan HS, was previous assistant at Chaska with Dave Snuggerud - didn't get Chaska head job.

Say the privates/Tonka/open enrollment weren't involved....what would be the percentage breakdown of which CCHA kids would go to Chaska & which would go to Chanhassen, if it was done by the book? My understanding was the majority of kids were Chaska kids....does Chanhassen have a chance in the future to tip that?

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
You would be correct in thinking that most of those kids go to Chaska. I grew up in the CCHA program and from what I remember it was only me and a small handful of other kids going to Chan. Hawks hockey (Hawkey?) has outspanned Storm hockey by over a hundred years and is generally considered the more elite of the two. This is reinforced by the fact they currently have a 10 game rivalry win streak going since 2016. So most of the 'elite' kids growing up in the CCHA... well they're probably just going to head to a Lake Conference school then. But Chaska would still be above Chanhassen in the pecking order for hockey talent.Doc Holliday wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 12:44 pm Say the privates/Tonka/open enrollment weren't involved....what would be the percentage breakdown of which CCHA kids would go to Chaska & which would go to Chanhassen, if it was done by the book? I do think that there is a possibility that Chan could take the initiative in hockey soon. Chanhassen HS has a larger enrollment than Chaska (though not by much) and from what I've heard, Chan high is just a lot nicer of a school than Chaska high. As well as just in general, Chanhassen as a city has less crime and unemployment than Chaska. So if given the choice, most parents would choose Chanhassen over Chaska.
Sean Bloomfield's time as the second coach for Chaska was a very successful 5 year run (Albeit never making the state tournament). But maybe, just maybe, he can bring that talent here.

Not sure. Heard the 4 finalist were Pickar, Pinok, Pitoscia and an assistant coach at CSS. Don’t know for sure but just what I’ve heard. Heard they have a players meeting with new coach and then will be made public. Whomever it is good luck! Hearing their could be an exodus of their top players.

Any buzz on the Roseau front? Seems odd and a little concerning that there have been crickets so far.
Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
Still posted on Roseau's web site, along with a part-time activities director. May make it easier to put a package together.Brodziak Fan Club wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 11:38 am Any buzz on the Roseau front? Seems odd and a little concerning that there have been crickets so far.
As a teacher in the district, Roseau could assign Lundbohm to the position, again, although I'm sure both parties would rather not do that.
