The Elks may have gone 0-3 at Braemar, but they went down swinging in every game. ER has been surprisingly good and should be a factor in 8AA.

Doh... Now 6-0 in the 3rd. Much more than I expected from Hill. And what is with the inconsistent STA???

Hill Murray 6
St. Thomas 0

Hill played great tonight. St. Thomas created turnovers with their forecheck but could not beat Erickson. Nice job by the Pioneers collapsing around their goalie and denying second shot opportunities. I figured Hill would win but not in running time.

Godbout/Madigan line with a big night. Gruba/Begley as well. Going to have to pack your lunch to beat the Pioneers going forward. Looking forward to the games with Edina.

EP 6
Edina 2

First off, EP played a phenomenal game. They did a great job of shutting down the neutral zone and not allowing Edina to create chances off the rush. They made the Hornets work for everything they got. They created havoc in the offensive zone by getting pucks deep, putting pucks on net, and capitalizing on the chances that came to them. It really is a simple game when you boil it down.

Weird mojo all around for the Hornets tonight. No Trey Fechko (anyone know why)? His little brother, Marcus moved up from the 4th line to take his spot. I understand the decision to keep the other lines intact but I think it really backfired. 3-0 after the 1st and Willy Johnson moved up from the 2nd line to take Fechko's place. I like that Edina plays a physical style, but they went overboard tonight. I'm not sure how many penalties they were called for, but they probably deserved 10 more. I think the physical play took them out of their game.

Eden Prairie's two Edina transfers each had a goal and an assist. Man, Andor would look nice in a Hornet sweater.

Heard Fechko had plain old flu/cold last couple days , didn’t play friday either . EP shocked Hornets with 2 in first 2 minutes and 3 in first 7. Giles called t/o . Was all Catch-up after that , and they outshot EP, but couldn’t close gap . EP wanted it more and deserved the W .

Agree Elk looked good and every game close .

Rapids took a 5-1 loss Thursday and turned it around to a 2-1 weekend . Well done boys

The Wayzata Andover 2-2 tie also pretty much sums up this season . Any of top 10 or for that matter top 15 can beat another on any given night

Enjoyed your weekend recap Westy.
Felt like sticking around for the EP-Edina game but 2 games, 95 miles & a couple of cold bodies said go home!

Was at HM-STA last night. 6-0 Pioneers. Really great game for HM. STA had 38 shots. HM's Nick Erickson was great. He also got an assist on a HM goal after an incredible save and rebound save. Defense made few mistakes (opposite of the BSM game 3 weeks ago) and STA had very few 2nd chances. Dylan Godbout got out of whatever scoring funk he was in with a hat trick and the rest of the offense created tons of scoring chances. Big crowd and fun night for HM fans at Aldrich. If HM can re-create this type of game against WBL, Edina, etc. they are a title contender. Note for opponents to watch out for HMs big 9th grade D-man Logan Hensler. He's 6-2 190. Probably still growing. Had 2 assists last night. STA got very chippy in the final 1/2 of the 3rd period. Hensler took a major charging penalty by blowing up a Cadet at center ice with 2 minutes left. STA had it coming.

I prefer to let running time be the answer to chippy play, not a major.
