The Omicron Holiday Cup

Post by East Side Pioneer Guy »

Has there been any chatter about any cancellations or crowd restrictions on the holiday tournaments next week? I don't really have a position myself, but I can see how games could get cancelled, or played just in front of family.

My limited experience is that these games don't draw thousands, so spectators should be able to have plenty of distance. But given you're coming off a Christmas weekend where families will be gathering, and then just a few days later you've got 6 - 8 teams in one place for three days, I can understand how some people can be nervous. It's not a great time to lose maybe 6 players to covid for a couple weeks.

I haven't heard anything, but I haver to believe there is some under the radar talk about it. This would apply to B-Ball tournaments too. You've got the school administers, MSHSL, coaches, and arena management that all need to green light it.

Heh heh, it's like it brought up a taboo subject. If it's discussed, it'll become reality.
