Rankings are just for fun - sports comes down to results on the field of battle. Unfortunately, we'll never know if Lakeville South could play with one of the top ten teams - they never played them.

Anyone find any video of either gentry or northfield goals? Always fun to see OT reactions!

That had to be by design right? With their talent I would have guessed plenty of teams wanted to skate with them. Wonder if they regret not getting some of the bigger hitters on the schedule?

Lakeville's got 21 games a year baked in each year with their conference and tournament.PhunnsieMcHockeyDad wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 9:37 amThat had to be by design right? Their "chosen" out of conference games this year:
- Northfield (a prescient, appropriate choice, as Northfield beat LVS twice);
- Roseville (a solid, +.500 team that lost to a Section champion);
- Owatonna (finished 16-9, Section opponent, lost to Northfield in Sections); and
- Dodge County (finished 14-12, Section opponent, traditionally a tough team).
I ascribe zero issues to scheduling. There's too many moving parts. Who's available? What rink is available? Do opponents demand home-and-homes? Do ADs have actual biases against certain programs? Do teams get moved from A to AA, or from Section to Section, causing some scheduling changes?

To Be Fairrrrrrr: (Letterkenny) If you know you have a top 5 team.... maybe it's time to not be in the Blaine Tournament with teams such as Anoka, WBL, Hopkins, Roseville and Blaine. Drop that tournament and schedule Non-conference games against the likes of.... Wayzata Tonka, Edina, Andover, Stillwater, Gentry, Hill.
I believe SOS matters. Look at how many SSC teams play a weak schedule and then get blown away when they play a decent Lake team or Suburban East team.
