Re: AP Polls Class A
Not to worry - this is preseason poll will change quite a bit once things get going. I do believe that they have the right teams in the list, just not certain about the order. I think some of this may be that it's tough to account for all the losses from last year for graduation and additions for this season.

I should add that there are some others that deserve consideration as well. My guess is that they made the 11-20 list.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ckeyfan at: 11/3/05 8:00 am

Is SSP that good?
Please Packer fans, don't take offense - I just don't know...is SSP really still that good (#1)? They obviously lost some big guns last year, and since many of the players on the team are open enrollees (I've heard that anyway), are some of the kids who might have moved to the team in the past no longer going there? Do they have more than one line - is there any depth?

In other words, who's good on the team? Is it a young team, or still mostly upperclass dominated?

Re: Is SSP that good?
SSP will be very good! They only lost 1 or their top 4 defenders, and they have their entire 2nd and 3rd line coming back. Their 2nd line which was pretty much a 1st line was entirely over looked, they’re good! Let's not forget they bring back their goalie too. They'll be good!

Hockeyhead

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... keyhead at: 11/4/05 7:46 am

Agreed that you can't look past SSP

Porter strong G

Robertson, Stohr, and Simones strong D

Bauerfeld, Bloemers, and Simones strong F

Others are strong players too...

I wouldn't look past them at all. They lost some great players, but many strong ones coming back that have a chance to now step into the spotlight.

SSP Youth?
Seems like the Packers still have a good base to work off of this year then - based on what I'm hearing, they should be good.

Of their 10 top scorers from last year, only two (Bauerfield, Crnobrna) will be back for next (2006-2007) season. I would presume that since they are Class A, fewer kids will seek to open enroll there in the future - kids who are not already there. If that assumption is true, then future success will come out of the youth program.

How good are the SSP youth girls teams? Are they highly successful, moderately successful, or not so great?

Re: AP Polls Class A
What is up with Totino I heard they were pounded this morning by Armstrong final score 10 -2.

ssp?
slporiolesfan,

ssp has two players committed to d-1 programs for next year and they have possibly another two for the future, so they still have good talent. the problem in past years is the higher end players simply overshadowed the current players. but these current players can and will play with the best in state.

about the youth program? one could say in about 7 yrs when all the great past players from the program begin to have kids (girls) and they play hockey (hopfully in ssp) then they will be good again.... until then they will be one of the conferences door mats...

Has Alexandria always been in A, or did they move down recently like the boys team.

Maybe the ship has come in for the pirates and the mariners. could be a couple new teams at the top in 3a.

Alex; A or AA...?
Alex has always been classified as an A size school for hockey.

The boys opted for many years up to AA, and have recently and begrudgingly, gone back down.

The girls have always been A.

They got started 8 years ago and have been coming along pretty well, eh?

They have some great talent again this year, and have 13 seniors on the roster.
