Both coming off not so good Saturday games struggling to score HM vs Tartan and Maht vs SSP.

In the past Dardis has been able to stop 40-50 shots and Mahtomedi has pulled the upset a few times being allowed to stay in the game.... Watching this year's version of Mahtomedi a few times they dont have that luxury in net, which we knew coming into the winter. The Zephyrs are more potent up front but Lechner as always has the Pioneers dialed into to their system.

I will take 5-2 HM.

When a Class A team is involved I feel the right to comment haha.

Sorry elliott didnt realize I was not allowed to comment on a AA vs A matchup I felt that still was an opening for me.

You can comment BUT
you have to pull for the single A teams.

(Check Mitch's rules on jumping ship.)

Hill can't score. And this will plague them all year, although I expect them to be much stronger come Feb. Tartan controlled play for a bit in that game and could have had a few goals. It was 1-1 going into the third. Do not be surprised by any team beating HM through January. Then we'll see how they round into form for sections.

Scoring is going to be a challenge for this Hill team. But I'll take a fantastic goaltender, depth and a HOF coach any day.

Did Tartan really control much of any play in that game? Didn't see it, but saw the box score and Hill outshot Tartan by 30 if I recall correctly. Hard for me to believe they were doing all that much controlling when you're getting outshot by 10 every period. Not disagreeing (since I didn't see the game)...just surprised to hear that given the box score.

Side note regarding potential scoring challenges for Hill this year: while the blueliner pairings seem pretty stable so far, and we all know Erickson will primarily start in goal, Hill has been adjusting their forward lines all year. 4 games, 4 vastly different starting forward lineups. Clearly they're working their way through lines to see what they have. Better to be doing this now versus in February, as you mentioned, Spar. I have confidence they'll get there.
The City of Hill Murray is beautiful this time of year

I was only able to watch the first period. And it was very even for most of it and Tartan was buzzing when they scored. I wasn't worried about the talent gap, which was big and there. I just realize we don't have pure scorers which always catches up to you. We'll be in most games due to defensive play and goaltending. Its whether we can score enough to beat good teams. Time will tell.

You can breathe a sigh of relief that elliot didn't challenge this comment (yet) [-X
