Rumor has it in St. Paul that Gentry head coach Billy Hengen is leaving. That seems like a no brainer. He was a 1 year guy from the start. The team returns a dismal 58 total points and only 21 goals. I'm sure this was a stepping stone for him. Use an already assembled team to catapult his career.
Amazing job coaching that glorified AAA team to a state championship, he should move on to do great things as a coach. (Nothing personal about the coach, just silly that the above comment is true.)
Girls HS hockey was becoming a sh*t show lately, then Gentry backed a dump truck full of sh*t on top of it. Sadly we are seeing a rapid decline in girls HS hockey as we know it, I anticipate the result will be far more co-ops of teams in coming years. But keep writing those "Minnesota is the best because of community-based hockey!" articles.
East Ridge job is posted too. That's not a bad one - good players in the program and Woodbury 12A and 12B1 both won state title last week (although the Pohl/Wendell/Hill-Murray feeder program was strong on those two teams).
Big numbers in Woodbury Youth Hockey right now - both High School programs should benefit.

Forest Lake is also posted. That makes 4 of the 9 Suburban East jobs currently available.
When you also consider Stillwater changed late last offseason and Roseville "changed" by adding Mahtomedi staff to its braintrust, there has been an incredible amount of flux in the conference coaching ranks the last calendar year.

Correct me if I'm wrong and there is a good chance I am, but didn't they both coach at CDH and it didn't end well?
I don't know how it ended, we came in after they had moved on to Hill. They're really, really good coaches. Would have loved it if they had stayed at CDH.
I suspect Ronda Engelhardt will be in the mix at Hill - she's available and has a daughter in the program.
If they hire any combination of Pohl, Wendell or Engelhardt they'll be in pretty good shape as long as players/parents/admin accepts them have kids in the mix.
Forest Lake Girls' Hockey has filled their head coaching vacancy by hiring Breanna Gaffy, a Michigan native and 2015 St. Mary's University graduate. Gaffy (Breanna Peterson then) played for the Cardinals from 2011-2015.
