Edina Jerseys

Post by CrimsonCakeEater »

Why must Edina ruin a good thing and change their home whites? Granted, they're now just what the girls wear, but the white jerseys look worse with green shoulders and the USA flag would look better if it was above the hornet instead of being crammed above the E, but it's unnecessary and looks dumb anywhere on the jersey. They still look good but they no longer look great. At least they won I suppose.

Very. At least it’s not the hideous 2000s jerseys.

Methinks that the Edina/Edina East/Edina jersey would be the least tinkered with in the state.

Edina's original colors were green, white, and black. When the schools split to East and West in 1972, Edina-East kept those colors and the Hornet nickname. The Edina-West Cougars were forest green and gold (not yellow/gold like today, but like the 49ers gold). When the schools came back together in 1981, they returned to the Hornets, but the original colors were switched the green and gold they have today--gold as a nod to the Edina-West years.

The "hideous 2000s jerseys" mentioned above and used for a few years were actually identical to the original green/white/black jerseys worn pre-1981 by Edina/Edina-East (except for a small "East" during those years).

That’s for sure. The next thing you know, the butler will want a raise. Life is full of problems.

I never saw them play very much, but my recollection is that West was purple and some shade of yellow/gold.
